I was hoping that maybe some of the people on here could keep track of what they eat, and maybe their physical activity, for a few days and post it, and their weight, on here. I used to be really skinny, but recently I've gained some weight and I'm not sure why. I see all these really skinny people around now, and I just wonder what they're doing? If there doing something that's not bad, then it would be great to know what they're doing.

To begin with, the best person to help is your doctor. He may give you a blood test to check on what is happening. Only he can give an accurate diagnosis and may, if you ask him, refer you to a nutritionalist, like mine has me. Recently I was diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes, so am having to closely list and check all food for fat, salt and sugar content. My diabetes is inherited.
If you are anxious about visiting your doctor, get your mum to accompany you or if that's not possible, a close friend. You may find making a small list helpful as a prompt. That's what I do and it saves time and makes sure I don't forget anything important to ask mine.
Our weight can increase when we get close to our period. That is when we feel kinda bloated. But again, only your doctor will give you assurances because by far, is the best person to help you at this stage.
I'd like to know how you get along, so please PM me.

Then I basically eat as much as I can (don't eat deep fried things or junk food like McDonalds). I am 6' or just above that and weight 150lb or a little below that. However I can eat whatever I want since I have a very high metabolism and find it impossible to gain weight. Though I doubt you are in the same situation.
What you should do is avoid high calorie, high fat foods. Lighter foods are preferred. And a diet will only help you partially. What really gets the job done is exercise. If you exercise enough you can keep your current diet and still be very slim and healthy. If you are looking to lose weight then do a lot of cardio (running and cycling). Good luck with your goals.

Putting on weight isn't necessarily a bad thing, I've put on about 2 stone in the past 2 years and I'm not fat, it's all bulk and muscle since I do loads of exercise such as running mid-long distance (3 times a week) and lots of upper body work (pretty much everyday).
If you're putting on weight without exercise it could just be because it's winter so your body is trying to conserve energy in the form of fat. Depends on how often you go out and stuff. |

I go to the gym about 3-6 times a week it depends it's so fun though.
This last week and a half i have lost 6lbs which is mad as i haven't tried losing much but i suppose i am burning more calories than i have consumed but oh well.
I'm 109lbs today but i expect it will have gone up by tomorrow.

Uhmm, my diet consists of Lucky Charms and soymilk for breakfast, salad and/or soup of some sort for lunch, and pansit/lumpia/adobo/etc., depending on what my mom cooks up. Throughout they day Isnack on granola, pudding, and yogurt. my drinks are water,orange juice, and green tea. i eat in small portions. as for exercise, i do yoga most of the time and jog or something now and then. i've remained at around 113~116lbs for a couple years now.

I have to have a big slab of meat (though highly spiced) at least once a day. I typically use chicken though I also favor ground beef and emu.
I love sweet things so fruit takes a big role in my cooking. I pretty much only use cane sugar in my tea which I drink several cups daily.
I have maintained 175+/-5lbs (which is a healthy BMI for a male my height) in the past 5 or 6 years.

But I think part of what's changed it would be that I've taken interest in much lighter foods - when prepared right, things like veggies and fruits, even ones you normally don't like, seem like an indulgence when they're really healthy.
For example, I don't like carrots, but when I cook them up with curry, they're great!
Just experiment with that sort of thing, using healthier ingredients - also, fresh fruit is a good choice. A lot of them are really sweet and juicy. ♥

7am:3 slices of bacon, two whole eggs
10:30am: Apple
12:30pm: Chicken breast with mesculin salad and vinagaret dressing
3:30pm: Banana
5:30pm: Lean Protien Shake
7pm: Dinner just w/e
But I'm 200lb and 15% bodyfat and "dieting" so our needs are different. |
