Im a theater actress, meaning Im in plays and whatnot. Right now I have the lead in a musical which involves singing, dancing and acting. I've never done a musical before and I found out just how much energy this kind of think takes.
starting tomorrow, I have whats called a tech week. We go to the actual theater (which is huge) and work out all technical things (ie. lighting, props, spacing, sound, etc.) This involves going through the enitre play at least 3 times a day for the next week. Tomorrow Im at the theater from noon - 9pm. and every day after that until the show im there for 6 hrs. each day
Where I need advice is: I need food that will keep my energy up for that long. I have a heart condition which doesnt allow me to take stimulants such as caffine or alot of sugar. Any ideas?
Well, ginseng helps to eliminate fatigue, so taking a supplement (if you want) would probably help you out.
Old-fashioned oatmeal (not the instant kind) will give you a lot of energy throughout the day if you eat it for breakfast, and will also keep you full longer so you're not constantly hungry. Peanut butter is a huge energy booster as well.
Also, if you're desperate, you could try drinking a sugar-free Red Bull or some other type of energy drink, if you can.

anyways, because of a heart condition, I cant have any type of thing that acts as a stimulant. No coffee, no soda, and an energy drink could possibly kill me, according to my doctor. And as for excercise, Ill be dancing all day, Ill be getting at least 4 hours of excercise a day. The oatmeal I will deffinately try, and carbs.... I dont want to eat too many of them, but Its worth a shot. I just dont want my body to give out on me.
