Anyway im a weak piece of shit so the last 2 days i've been going to the gym with a friend. I was just wondering if me not being able to put on weight at all would affect me being able to get muscle. Im not anorexic or anything but I can't put on weight no matter how hard i try. |

Also the first day we went for about an hour but the 2nd day we were there for 3 or 4 hours. Assuming I went for an average of an hour a day how long do you reckon it'd take for anyone to be able to physically notice? Also any advice on a routine or whatever i should try to do. I'm 15 years old |

Though, if you're lifting properly you'll notice a difference very quickly.
I helped my friend get an overall great figure in three months, though you'll notice a difference before then. |

I want to work more on my arms. I've also been doing 20 minutes on the tredmill both times i went but thats just because i enjoy running and the cross countries coming up :P. I've been lifting about 30kg on the machines sometimes 35-40... I've been working on my legs too but I'm not as worried about them |

If there's anyone down your gym that can help, I'd ask for a routine to be put together for you . |

First off, you have to make sure your diet is in check. No matter how hard you're trying, with a poor diet, you're going nowhere.
Secondly, the four hours you went to the gym for was overexcessive. More does not necessarily mean better. If you're lifting weights for more than two hours, you're wasting time. One hour, in my opinion, would be sufficient.
If I were you, I'd get on a split aimed at hypertrophy (muscle-building) ASAP. Aim for 3 sets of 8-12 reps with each excercise. Also, you don't want to overtrain, so 6-12 sets per muscle group should suffice.
As for the diet...
I'd say aim for 2,500 quality calories for starters, increasing the total as weeks go by.
You should be hitting...
1.25-1.5g of protein per pound of bodyweight daily.
2.50-3.0g of carbohydrates per pound of bodyweight daily.
~0.50 g of healthy fats per pound of bodyweight daily.
If you're having trouble obtaining your macros/micros through food, I'd suggest looking into whey protein shakes. A multi-vitamin and omega-3 fish oil for fat intake would also be a good idea. (I realize I write a lot with each post, but deal with it. Just trying to help) |

Remember it aint the actual weight-training that builds the muscle (it only rips the muscle fibres) while the food (protein) fixes the muscles up making the fibres thicker and stronger. You have to eat a lot by the way, I'd recommend 3000 calories a day, having a good mix for carbs and protein. And also don't spend more than 1 hour in the gym, as cortisol levels builds up and that can even lead to muscle loss. |
