in a sentimental term i'd prefer 2 best friends, while at a laboral term it would be 10 acquaintances.

2 best friends. All you do with an acquaintance is say hi to each other and then walk away. With a best friend, you can actually talk with them.

yea, the problem with 10 acquaintances is that they all assume that you have other closer friends, so they're a lot less likely to want to hang out.
Here's a similar question: how many acquaintances would you have to have to pick that over 2 good friends?
