Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
I do. We've been friends for about 4 or 5 years. We've been best friends for 4 or 5 years. In 8th grade, I never thought about losing our friendship. I love my best friend. Last year, we started high school and that all changed. We go to the same school and we found people and they are our friends. Well it seems like I'm losing my best friend. Last year, it seemed like we were growing apart. Now I feel like we are as distant as ever. Sometimes, she doesn't even act like my friend. Last year, a guy was throwing emo shit at me. "Let me see your wrists!" "Do you have any friends?" And my so called best friend was like "I'm her only friend!" You have no idea how much that hurt me. Well, you might because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here who has felt that way. I just want to go back to the 8th grade. Everything was so simple back then. It was the best year ever.

Re: Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
Aww, I'm kind of in the same situation, last year in year 8 me and my best friend who I've known for about 3 - 4 years were doing ok, but then she got too close to her boyfriend and they became inseperable, now we're in high school, I've made tons of new friends, including one who seems to have moved in as my best friend, she's always around me, and I feel like I never talk to my best friend anymore, but I'm trying harder to include my best friend more, I know it feels like you're drifting apart but you have to hold on to her, if you don't keep trying to include her as much as possible she'll just become another 'friend' and you'll really hate for that to happen.

Re: Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
don't just stick to one friend, make lots, that way if that one friend lets you down you have more, i was best friends with this girl for 13 years, last year we've sort of grew apart, i grew up a bit and we grew apart, we're still good friends at the moment but it's not like it used to be, i think we'll be friends for life but that "best friend" link has now faded really
sometimes people have different interests and it's just life that you grow up and develop different friendships, it's very rare you keep the same best friend throughout your whole life, it's still good to stay friends though

Re: Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
Not alot of people stay together after highschool, everyone meets new friends. Thats what happened to me anyways through highschool, I had different friends at different times. Well i'm out of highschool now and my friends and i still hang out and talk from grade 12. Just like when you'll move onto college or university i'm sure everyone meets new friends there too, but doesnt mean you can't keep your old ones.

Re: Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
You know what? Firstly, people who want to talk shit to your face, only shows they have no confidence in themselves so they insult other people to make themselves feel better.
Secondly, sometimes it is the same thing with my best friend. We still know we are best friends and all, but there are times that she hangs out or talks more to someone else, and it does make me feel bad. If I were you, I would just spend more time with her. Don't follow her around like a puppy, but make sure she knows you want to spend time with her, and that your best friendship is still intact.

Re: Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
It is nice to have one best friend that is like a sister to you. But as others have said its also great to have other good friends. You can never be sure that best friend will by your best friend in years to come because unfortunately people dump friends I wouldnt though.

Re: Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
In high school, people become their own person and they develop tastes so not many friendships stay in tact.
I think you're just unlucky.

Re: Have you ever felt like your best friend isn't your best friend?
I know what your goin through. Iv been bestfriends with this one girl for over 4years now but sometimes she feels so distant. Like i cant talk to her the way i use to or get excited with her etc. I also want to go back to the earlier years when we would do everything together but its nt dat simple.
Well anyways i took some space from her, and i missed her. I think you need to be reminded of all the good things. me and ma friend soon became bff again and even stronger. You shud just get some space.
