My best friends mum is pregnant, and shes really upset. She doesnt have a dad, she's an only child and she hates her mums new bf (theyve only been seeing eachother for about 4 months!). She hates her mum anyway.. she sometimes hits her if they have an argument. Im really worried for her as shes taking it really badly.. she sometimes cuts herself and omg im just so scared. I said she could come live with me till it all smooths out. But i dont know if it will.. her mum will be 58 when the baby is 16! Dont you think thats sick? Omg..just.. tell me what to do!! Lv xxx

First of all, it's not sick. There are elders who adopt 5 year olds, while they are 70.

It's not 'sick' at all.

And I suggest talking to your friend, and coming up with a solution TOGETHER.

Whether your friend wants to realize or not her mom is going to have a baby so instead of trying to help her out by hiding her from her problem, I think you should help her get used to the fact her mom is going to have a baby and possibly even get along with her mom better before the baby is born.

how can her mum having a baby n being 58 when baby is 16?..... thats not sick..... its just like saying if your mum was 30 when you had your baby.

I think asking her if she wants to stay with you for a while would be a good idea which would help her. It would be better if you didn't judge her mum though; having a 16 year old child when she's 58 isn't sick at all. My mum's in her 50s and she's a really good parent.

IF she was 58 now i'd be worried. Mainly cause I dont think people should have children after they're turn 40, for health reasons.

#As to your friend, tell her to report her mother to social services, move out, and grow up.

OI. I'm 16 and my mum is 56, whats your damn problem LOL, geez. I didn't turn out fucked up or anything, hell I'm probably the most successful out of all my siblings right now.

I sound like an asshole cos of this but this comment just pissed me off.

Maybe this girls mom wants a baby, did either of you think about that?

It isn't exactly your problem after all, i understand your friend may be shocked or upset but at the end of the day her mom is old enough to make her own decisions.

And if she thinks there's a problem she should talk with her mom.
