So I finally asked my cousin if he cared about me.

But I decided not to tell him that I like him. I just decided to ask if he cared about me in a family-type way.

And this was his reply, is this good or bad?:

"SERENA!
of course i care about you my god your my cousin i mean do you not remember those long nights that i used to talk to you and i was so worried about you and your friend and all that stuff that happened and everything
why would you ever ask a question like that???"

I think he was surprised by your question.
He might have thought that you thought he hated you which is why you asked.
It is weird to ask whether he likes you in a family way since you said you're close and he's your cousin.

In all fairness my friend, he is right, there is a huge difference and because you said you had a crush on him, there is indeed a significant difference in caring for you as family and caring for you as a lover. We know he cares in a family way, he was just pointing out there is a difference, and hell, even I could have told you he cared about you in a family way by your informative posts.

Thanks, but I'm pretty damn sure he doesn't care for me in that way, and honestly, it's just a crush, i'll get over it eventually. All I wanted to know was the he cared, which brings me to this. How could you tell he cared about in a family way from my previous "informative" posts?

Well seeing as you have said "We go to the same high school, and at first, i tried to ignore the feelings because he's like a brother to me and we grew up together."
If you say he's like a brother to you then surely you must know he cares in a family way.

Ok, but other than that, there was no other indication that he cared for me family-wise, we haven't hung out in the past three years because we've both been really busy, but he said he wanted to start hanging out sometime again.
