I've been best friends with this girl for about 2 years. We talked all the time, shared lots of stuff and helped each other through some hard times. Lately she had been hard to get a hold of and I didn't think much of it because she would always get back to me and she told me what she was doing. I left her alone for a while as she had finals and other things she had told me about. After those were over I tried calling her a few times but she never responded. I started calling and texting and sending her facebook messages constantly. She still hasn't responded and her finals were over about two weeks ago. The last time we talked she told me that she loved me but that was almost a month ago now. I'm afraid I may have scared her with the constant calls/texts/messages. I don't have a lot of friends but the ones I do have are very close so when I didn't hear back from her immediately I panicked and looking back I reacted very irrationally. I don't want to lose her, she means the world to me. Have I ruined the friendship by badgering her like that?

no. I have been in your situation and have acted the same. heres what your to do, wait a week. and during that week do not contact her in any way, obviously if she contacts you then go right ahead, otherwise, no contact. then you send her one message in a way you know she'll get it. saying your sorry for the way you reacted and you didn't know what had been going off, but your worried about her and wondering why she'd been out of contact for so long. plead to her to get back to you and leave it there. do not contact her again.

when I did this, the boy that I sent the text too that I had acted like you did over, he got back to me the next day saying he was sorry. in fact, our situations are duplicate in a frightening way. he had told me he loved me too. and he said that the reason he hadn't spoken was because he was afraid I'd reject him for his feelings about me. we're now close friends again.

Thanks so much for the advice. I'm going to do exactly that. And that is eerily similar. It is nice to know that I'm not the only one.

Do you think that really is the reason, that she is upset about my calling too much? I know you have no way of knowing but I'm just afraid that she has just decided that she doesn't like me anymore.

I should mention that we have been telling each other we love each other for about a year now.

I still haven't heard from her but I'm taking Cirrax Lankart's advice and giving her some space for a while. If I don't hear from her I'll call her sometime next week I guess.

Bring up the concerns, just be like:
"Hey..you know...if you just want space, let me know and I wont bother you, I don't want to be seen as annoying to you, or a burden to talk to, just seems you might want some since we don't talk as much these days"
