Okay, so my mom is going to leave my dad for a man half her age that she met on the internet (and still hasn't met face to face) and who lives in Europe and she's taking me with her (we live in america). I'm scared as hell, but I don't want to stay with my dad (he used to....well...abuse me, i guess you could say). We are going to have to get planes tickets, pack up all the stuff we can carry, and then leave as fast as possible before my dad comes home on whatever day we decide to leave (probably going to be in a month)Anyway, anyone got any advice for me on how to deal? Because every plan that I ever had for my life (several of which were going to come into effect very soon. Such as starting dual enrollment at the local college) has now gone up in smoke and I have no idea what is going to happen to me or my future. So, yeah, any advice?

well i dont know, you should tel how you feel to your mom, i guess that that should make her analize things up a little bit, i cant think of anything else right now kass

Eh, thanks, but I already have. Believe me I have. But she just uses the ol' guilt trip saying that she wasted 17-18 years of her life with my dad and doesn't she deserve a chance to be happy and plus maybe I can be happy in another country anyway. Plus, she thinks this guy is her soul mate.....I'm sure he's nice and all, but...sheesh. I mean, I want her to be happy and all, i do. I just want her to be safe. And it's not like that I don't understand that we need to get away from my dad, i just wish it wasn't in the way that she seems to have chosen. But thanks. lol

but she doesnt have to leave the country to be happy, there lotsa mans in the us that are good mans and im sure that will make her happy, she doesnt even have to leave her home

Rue, but the thing is, my dad is very stalkerish. Last time she tried to leave him, he was there evrytime that she turned around. I'm sure that even if we went to another state, he would follow us. Plus, my mom has always been looking for a chance to get out of the country. She's never liked it here.

but your mom has to think about you to, about your goodnes to, and that thing of your dad, she just need to call for police and your dad wil be watched 24/7

Yeah, my mom tried the whole police thing with her last husband and they didn;t do anything, which resulted in a lot of pain for her and the family. So she doesn't reallt trust them. And she says that she is trying to think of me too, but that she can't give up her chance for happiness. So, I don't know what to do except just go with it and hope this all works out. Even though I'm worried about going to a country that speaks a different launguage than I do and going to a school for the first time in years in another country. Eek, I'm whining aren't I? Sorry, I just needed to vent...

Your mom's reaction is unusual but not unheard of. However, she risks getting herself into an even worse situation by going to live with someone she's never met. Its downright dangerous, escpecially with you. She's putting both of you in danger and needs to realize that. She needs a psychological slap in the face. I suggest haveing her watch thoose shows about online predators.
