Anyhow, I'd have to say that favoritism can be unconscious, by which I mean the family member may not realize that they favor the one child. So I think it occurs very often. We don't really have it in my family, however my mom is tougher on my sister than any of the rest of us. Reverse favoritism, maybe? |

Money: -1,810 | Re: favoritism My brother's 5 years older than me, and I have 2 step-brothers that are older than me, too. It used to seem like I was always the one who got in trouble, wasn't allowed to do as much, etc. My Mom used to favor my brother so much.
But now, since I went to college, it's almost the complete opposite. I think my Mom favors me moreso because I was the only one (kid) living in our house for about 4 years so I got closer with my parents. Not to mention I'm the only one who has gone to college.

Money: -2,116 | Re: favoritism In my family, my mom and step-dad kind of formed their own little family when they had my brother. I don't think they "favor" him, they just feel closer to him because he kinda ties them together I guess. Not a big deal to me though, I like being rather independent and I am wicked close to by bro. |
