If someone was like that to me I'd be pissed and tell them to jog on.

Librarian: Oh? That's quite...keen, isn't it?
Me (laugh again): Um. Maybe. I guess so. | Seems like you're showing off, now that I re-read that... Big.fucking.deal. I got the same reaction when I asked for "The C++ Standard Library" at my library (a few years ago, that is, when I was 11). In case you're like my librarian and have no idea what C++ or a library is (not a books library), go research it. In fact, research the book itself.
You *really* sound like my friend. And she is SO annoying. Do you happen to feel like you really know people? My friend was all like "yes, I know him, trust me" to my other friend. Uh, no she does not. I was like, go fuck yourself, because I was so pissed off at what she was saying, but I didn't since I was at school.
Sorry dude, no offense or anything. But people like you piss me off. I'm a major programming dude, and no one even knows what a programming language is at my school; I don't go complaining. I learn to deal with it. I'm proud that I can program and others can't do shit.

You sound EXACTLY like my sister when she accused me of 'not wanting to have fun' at our birthday sleepover on Saturday, and told me all I wanted to do was hang around and read Shakespeare.
How was I showing off? I wanted a copy of 'The Tempest', I asked for it at my library. I was stared at like I wanted to order drugs.
Anyway, quite frankly, I'm lonely. Maybe I am just sick of it.
Didn't you make your point with the first post you added telling me what a lifeless, boring goody-goody I was?
Please, just do us all a favour, and get a life. |

Money: -2,008 | Re: A Lonely Overachiever Needs Desperate Help! Listen, Its Normal. I was, and still am mature for my age. But I do have fun. Loosen up a bit, and you'll be fine. Dont give up on your grades and everything else.
Your friends dont understand what its like to be in your shoes. Went they get older they will understand. But they werent gifted to have what you have. Trust me, its a great thing.
your sister, just help her out. Talk to her, make sure she doesnt feel like you get all of your mother and fathers praise. |

Please, just do us all a favour, and get a life. | Actually, I'm probably one of the most caring people anyone would ever come across in real life.
Did you even try to absorb my post? Or did you skim it? Quote: |

| Read that again. Think. Shakespeare brains can do that easily. If you could look past the simple sentence you would notice that I meant for you to be proud of yourself and deal with people being too immature (or at least too immature in your view). They won't magically change, apologize, and start reading Shakespeare with you.
How were you showing off? Let's read what you wrote again... Quote:

| Make sense now? Why the hell did you include a whole conversation, * including "details" *?
So you wanted a book and the librarian was shocked. Like I said, you're not the only one. The librarian didn't even *understand* me when I wanted "The C++ Standard Library".
And seriously, wtf is up with the name?
And here you go again: Quote: |
I was stared at like I wanted to order drugs.
| Wow. Like that's never happened to anyone. I managed to totally baffle my librarian to a point where he paused for maybe a minute.
Another thing: It was JBaker who called you a "goody goody". You can find the name to the left of the post (under the current forum mod and version).
I'd continue to pick out stuff that makes you look super "overachieving", but I don't have the time. I indeed have what is called "a life". Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't be talking, k?
kthxbi

You know, are you supposed to put a period on a sentence if it ends in a smiley? It just looks weird...

Money: -2,101 | Re: A Lonely Overachiever Needs Desperate Help! tyou have to be able to see the silver lining. sometimes intelligence isn't enough to see the things that are most obvious. if your smart. be smart. you want conversation. converse. sure your only a kid once. but being a kid doesn't necessarily mean that you have to get in trouble and be immature. it differse from person to person. you are who you are for a reason. you should put your brains to use. and never give up. just because your friends are what they are. doesnt mean you have to be like them

Except it hasn't, and now it's got to the point when I don't really have any other option but to carry on. | You never have to do something. So, don't think you have too. I use to be so into school. I was always the student pushing myself to do more than what the other students were doing. I was trying to shoo away from the group that tend to bring me down. And now, I am one of those kids. I have to repeat one of my grades when it was my fault because of the choices that I made. But this has a point. Don't do something that you will look back and regret. It does nothing but eat at you for the rest of your life, trust me. I'm living proof of it. But, like I said you never have to do something. You say that you have no option but you do. The same option that a drug dealer has when he decides that he wants to change. The alcoholic that pours the vodka down the drain. Do you see my point? I know you think it's hard but it gets easy. This shit is to prepare you for life, the real part. Sit down and think these through. Don't regret it in the long run, seriously.
