It's so wierd when you're life basically falls apart infront of your eyes and you loose the thing that means most to you.
For me, the thing that means most to me is my twin sister, Kate. We're not identical but we're so alike that it's scary.
When we were 6 our parents divorced and Kate moved with my mum to Brighton and my dad and I stayed here in the lake district. We're 14 now, yet I still remember us living as one happy family as if it were yesterday.
Being a twin is probably the most amazing thing ever. We're so close, it's unreal. I'm not ashamed of telling Kate anything or asking for advice on anything, no matter how embarassing it may be.
I get to see Kate every two weeks for the weekend and in holidays we spend our time together and rotate weeks between my mum and dad. We're at two different schools and both have completely different friends. But, that's not enough. When I am not with Kate, I feel completely empty and alone even if I'm with 100 other people.
When we meet, we often turn up wearing the same T-shirt that neither of us knew the other even had. It's wierd like that.
We have a bond so strong that it's hard to write down in letters. It's like we're one person and each of us contains half and together we make one complete person.
I really miss not having her around and even though we call each other every night, I still miss her.
Does anyone have any advice for me? We joined this forum so we can both be connected on something even when we are far apart.
Is there anyone with a twin that knows the feeling??

I cant really imagine the situation but I feel it badly....It is really sad and unfortunate to see the separation at age of 6. When these things happen, we only think, cant things go back alright and live together again? and then the next thought saying not possible makes feel even sadder.

I havent got a twin so I can't begin to sympathise, However, I know the feeling of not being able to be with someone who you have such a strong bond with and it is heartbreaking.

I dont know how you feel but I do have a twin and I cant imagine what I would do if anything like that ever happend to her and I.

I don't really know you're situation, but I'm a twin, and whenever I go into hospital (last time: 8 and 1/2 weeks) I'm always really lonely and feel like I'm missing an arm or a leg.

Just keep connected with your twin, and tell me how you are. I'd love to know if you're feeling okay and coping.

Yeah, all you can do is communicate as much as possible in your situation. I don't have a twin, but I can sympathize. There's such a huge age difference between me and my siblings that I sorta miss out on having them around. My sis is 12 years older than me and my bro is 9 years older than me, so they went off to college when I was like 6 and 9.

I have an Irish twin if that counts (born in the same year but different months) He looks almost exactly like me except he's a guy but i can sort of feel the same way because if anything ever happened to him i just wouldn't know what to do. Most of the time he does annoy me, and we get into fights but he's still very special to me.

It's the exact same with me and my sister, Catherine.
