You can get Fawkes during the main missions, when you have to enter Vault 87. You need to save him, so good karma.

I'll have to make sure I get him then. Sergeant RL-3 can be awesome at times but always gets owned by Yao Guai. It makes me sad when I'm travelling and I randomly get a message saying 'Follower Warning: Sergeant RL-3 has died'

i never had any followers, fawkes annoyed me, he got in my way

also towards the very north, there is a man who has mutated into a tree, and there are people who were robes with twigs stuck on them who worship him - i found that kinda funny xD

Followers, if nothing else, are good for holding your stuff. That way you don't have to keep going back every 10 minutes and selling everything.
And you're talking about Oasis. There's a quest there that seems a LOT more like Oblivion than Fallout.. But gives you a very nice permanent DR boost if you destroy the 'tree's heart.

Well, yu can just use your house in Megaton for stroring.
As for Harold, the talking tree, I think he also was in the other Fallouts.
Has anyone been to Vault 106? That place is not Fallout 3, it's Silent Hill!

All the vaults are a little scary. Is 106 the one with the gas? I think it was 109 (or whatever one you get the violin in) with the white noise that drove all the residents crazy so they attacked each other.

92 has the violin. 106 is the one with the "friendly" dwellers.
I can't get into 92 though., the Deathclaws pwn me constantly.

I had to kill 3 deathclaws in Ole Olney! Took a lot of frag grenades and stimpaks, I tell you. Two of them came at me at once and I nearly got myself and my robot owned. I haven't actually been to 106 yet. I should check it out. Do you get it on your map from the Vault-Tec Headquarters?

Nha, I haven't found Vault-Tec yet. All the vault locations are given to you during the main storyline missions.

Didn't you do the optional part of the Agatha's Song quest? I got the locations of 5 or 6 vaults, although I already knew some of them. I must admit I've been slacking off the main quest, I still didn't retrieve the lunar lander thingy :P
Too much exploring, but I'm level 16 already so the main quest shouldn't be too hard.

I haven't done Agatha's song at all. I'm now exploring with my new character. He's weak, so I need to look for a companion.
You should do the main quest, it's easy level-up.

But exploring is fun too. I have some good Talon Combat Armour, most of the weapons you can get (with more ammo than I'd be able to use) and over 7000 caps. So I'm pretty much set. Oh yeah, I've got my Megaton house and all the stuff for that.

Shishkebab! It's awesome. Also if you're in the mood for some carnage, a Ripper works!
Try going to Tenpenny Tower, there's someone who sells only ammo, and there's quite a few people who have 200-400 caps each. I usually end up skipping Megaton and going to Tenpenny instead. I actually haven't been to Rivet City yet

cool, but I find Tenpenny Tower too corrupt. You should find Rivet City, there are two guys there who specialize in weapons and will sell you all sorts of ammo and weapons, including mini-nukes.
