It's concept art for the next Zelda game on Wii.
I've read somewhere that the ghostly pointy headed thing is a shapeshifting master sword (note that Link isn't holding a sword) who's Links companion like Navi and Minda.

Yesss, I have definitely seen that. :]
Really can't wait for the new Zelda, even though it's coming out next year (at the earliest, I'm guessing).

Link is not holding the master sword. There has never been a link not holding the master sword. That is what leads me to believe that this is the master swords spirit. The game cube one is the correct version. Nintendo isn't stupid believe it or not this is one of the few franchises from Nintendo that they have make sure there is continuity. Just because there are more right handed players means nothing. It just means that they will flip it again. Link will always be left-handed. All of the descendants of link always have been and always will be. It's like a pre-requisite you need to be left handed.
