Hey guys

Sorry if this is boring or doesn't make sense.
I don't usually ask for advice, but i really need help. I don't actually have a problem making friends like the title says, but I have trust issues and I'm socially awkward, so I find it hard to open up to people.
I've recently made a new friend and I don't say much when we talk. I don't want to seem careless, but I don't know how to open up about myself.
To sum it up, does anyone have any tips to help me be easy going and express myself?

Me too but my friends are very outgoing so I'm always in the back. I'm too shy but I'm fun to be around when you get to know me. Just a lil anti social

That's exactly how I am. Don't worry there's nothing wrong with it. My friends are out there gettin all the girls. Flirting and everything. I'm the one sitting back and chillin. I've had one real girlfriend before. My friend introduced us. I never started the conversations at first until I got to know her and she got to know me. We dated for about a month and I still hardly talked to her. She'd call me and she would spend hours talking and I'd just add a sentence or two every now and then

Yeah that's what i do unless i'm extremely comfortable with the other person. But the problem is that my friend keeps complaining that he's the one doing all the talking. I feel bad but i have know idea what to say.

Just tell him straight up that's just how you are. I'm sure he'll understand
