I am a sophmore in HS. So I recently got braces and an expander. Alot of people I know and friends had theirs in middle school and got theirs off. It makes me feel, weird. Is it? |

Embarrassing is up to you. However, it isn't weird, but more uncommon to have braces in high school. I know kids that do have braces in HS, though.

i dont think it is that embarassing i think most of the people in my school has braces
in fact to of my bestfriends both have braces

I know plenty of people that have braces in high school. No big deal. In fact, most of those people I don't even realise have braces most of the time. It's just not something we really notice. So you might feel insecure about them, but chances are, no one else has really even noticed, let alone given it any thought.

Not at all! I had braces too...but I did have them in Elementary school and got them out before Grade Nine. However, there is nothing to be embarrassed about! Tons of people have braces, whether younger or older. Don't worry about it. =D
I do feel embarrasment however when you think how so many people need braces - why does the human body have so many fricken problems? My teeth were bucked - two that stuck right out. xD Braces really helped =D - but man, I hate how the human body has so much wrong with it. Not that it's a major problem to need braces but it means our teeth need to be fixed to avoid future trouble. Stupid human body. -_- | |

The best time to have them is in high school. I got mine in 8th grade and got them off in 9th. Now I have to wear two retainers and rubber bands. So annoying! hopefully next month when I go back to the orthodontist he'll tell me I don't have to wear them during the day anymore.

No, it's not embarrassing. A person I know awhile back is in college and still wearing braces.

I had them to Freshman year, and I see people who have them as adults. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Rather I have a nice set of teeth then jagged ones.

I know girls who've had them since grade 8, and still have them in grade 10, and girls who got them on just this year. But I never needed the damn things

There's nothing to worry about! It's COMPLETELY common to have braces in high school. I got mine off in the middle of my freshman year.
