I say it's not really a common problem for me because knowing words and naming things is one of my forte's so I"m kinda like...... Duh... lol
This series so far has went over how one of the most important parts of having self confidence is to have a set of unshakeable values. At first I thought that my number one was Truth. Always stand for the truth no matter what - which I usually do much to the chagrin of my class mates, coworks and especially teachers.
After thinking about it though I realized that I don't have a single 'core value' because no one thing can always be the 'right' thing to do. To me, doing the smart thing and the right thing are just as important. For instance, a manager of mine lost his job about six months ago because he didn't tell a lie. To him, Truth really was his #1 value - he lost his job for it. I couldn't do that.
Truth would probably be my #2. I can tell you that no matter what in a relationship (romantic, i mean) I will never lie. But if it came to me loosing my job then I probably would - especially if I knew that I could get away with it...
What do you guys think? |
