there are an infinite variety of body types out there, 3 main classifications have emerged
Ectomorph – skinny, thin torso, little bodyfat or muscle
Mesomorph – muscular, broad shoulders, less bodyfat
Endomorph – round torso, thick neck, shorter legs
Most likely you will fall somewhere between the extremes of these classifications. Obviously, the mesomorph body type is advantageous for bodybuilding. for me i lucky i fall into mesomorph and you fall into fall into ectomorph but dont worry! you can still get huge but you will just need to do a bit of extra work "just keep on walking and you will eventually get there" an old chiniese saying
The longer a muscle is, the more potential there is for it to increase in size. This is because a muscle’s width will never exceed its length. The longer the actual muscle belly, and the shorter the tendons which connect the ends to the bone, the more potential you have to increase the size of that muscle.
This varies from muscle to muscle, which means that one person can have more potential in one muscle than in others. So if your calf muscles are short, that doesn’t mean that your biceps don’t have awesome potential so just because you seem skinny now in about a year you could be ripped so dont give up! because 95% of your fellow mates will be in the same boat as you not many people have the best genetics for mucle building!
so dont give up do a bit of reserch and you can fix your problem, like i always say you can never be to big

I once dated a guy who could eat a whole buffet dinner and not gain 1/2 an inch!

I'm not sure. It's possible depending on the person and how HIGH your metabolism is.
The skinny guy I was referring to whom I dated worked out and he got abs, but not leg/arm muscles. It really depends on your figure. If you have more femininely built arms and legs there's nothing wrong with that.
Some immature kids might tease you about it during middle/high school, but after that it really settles down. We all have SOMETHING tease-able about us. How we handle it is what matters.
Good luck to you!
