CHI flat irons/other flat irons

I didn't see a topic already about this. So I was just wondering if anyone owns this particular CHI flat iron or if they would recommend a different product. I have very thick and curly hair. I love my hair when it is straight but the various straightners I have bought a drugstores only work for a short amount of time then they do not work at all or work less. So I end up giving them to my sister after only 6 months+ use. Which sucks. So I am looking for a flat iron that is easy to use and going to get my hair very straight. I love the look. I miss it. I haven't been able to straighten my hair and it is driving me insane! Any help you ladies could give or anyone could give, would be very much appreciated.
