I wouldn't say they're cute or trashy, they're just unnecessary. They get infected easily, they can cause medical issues and allergies later in life, and they rip out or reject easily. Also, dancers, gymnasts, swimmers, and other athletes have to be very careful with them. Too much trouble for my taste.

my belly button was the amongst the first piercings that i got. i have had it fpr several years with no problems.

I think almost all piercings look trashy and unattractive, but each to their own.
