Thicker Hair

Hey guys, just a quick question. I have hair that is on the thinner side and it really annoys me styling-wise. Do you guys have any tips or tricks on how to get it thicker, or ways to make it look thicker? Thanks.

Well if you look at my profile you can see how I do my hair usually, and it usually looks alright, but because it's thin (it's not super thin, just kind of annoying) it doesn't stay like that, it kind of flops down, so I need to keep pushing it up.

Re: Thicker Hair

Don't use too much gel or wax - it will weigh your hair down and make it look flatter and thinner. Use a bit of volumizing mousse and possibly some hairspray instead. Also use a good shampoo (I recommend Head and Shoulders). You can get specific volumizing shampoos if you prefer though which can be very effective, but ask your pharmacist before you buy. Finally, comb your hair as little as possible.

I'm half Asian so I got thick hair. You don't want it, trust me. It always sticks up and you always have to comb it every 2-4 hours if you want to ensure you look your best

It's not the styling, my styling skills are quite good, it's just that I prefer thicker hair.
I do use good shampoo, I use aveda and american crew shampoo.

I don't have the Asian hair that sticks up, I got the one that is down and is all wavy and shit. It moves around a lot and is really annoying. And when it gets wet like showering and sweat, it sticks up and won't go back down even with a comb. So I have to work out and take a shower all during the night to ensure that I look my best the next day

I'll rephrase: The styling products that you are using, as well as the amount you use, may be weighing down your hair so if you switch to lighter alternatives then eventually your hair should thicken a little bit. Aveda is good (haven't heard of American Crew).

Well I understand what you mean, but I don't use all that much. I usually take a small scoop with my finger, rub in the palms of my hand, and then spread through my hair. I try and get it in the roots of my hair, that way it'll provide more hold and not weigh it down as much. I use hair clay, sponge wax, pomade, and fibre cream, but not all at once of course. Just depends what I feel like.

Re: Thicker Hair

Ive got thicker hair so its different but using gel or fibre cream will emphasise that its thin. Stick with clay mat wax i reckon mate.

Try Trevor Sorbie it costs a bomb but its quality look at my profile if you wanna see mine haha.
