Lip piercing

i really really really want a lip piercing, but ive been told that a lot of infections can result from getting one. is that true or should i go for it? thanks.

Don't know anyone at all who has had an infection from it.
And I hang out with 'scene kids'. I know a lot of people with them.

And I want to get mine done too.

I've had mine for like five months now.
And no sign of infection.

It really depends on how well you take care of it. You have to clean it at least twice daily and make sure you rotate the ring around a bit so it doesn't get all crusty and such.

Also, it wears away at the enamal of your teeth which makes your teeth more suseptible to decay, and it can also damage your gums. I'd do some research on it before you actually get it done.

if you do get one, make sure you follow the instructions exactly, and go beyond. You dont want to play games with that. also, make sure you go to a reputable place

getting infected is so easy. you get yourself cut and not take care of it. chances are its gonna get infected, same with everything.

just take care of it, and don't back down just for an infection. if you do it right, nothings gonna happen

Its supposedly safe to have it done there. However theres chance it may cause problems with the gums and the surrounding areas because its next to it.

I got a really bad infection in mine.
But i love it now.
Go with it, it's not going to kill. lol.

It depends how hygenic the place is and how skilled the people are who do it, and how accurate they are. If you pick some dive where they hardly know a thing about piercing, then yeah you can get an infection. But if you want one, go for it. They look good and I've been thinking about getting one myself and have some friends who have them.
Just make sure the place you pick looks hygenic with people who are careful and know how to do it properly.

I've had mine for 3 years, and never had a single problem with it.
Just take good care of it, and it'll be fine.

Any hole in the body can be prone to infection, you just got to take measures to prevent it, such as what the previous posters with experience have said.

yeh my friend has one and its abit crusty but it does look soo nice
do you have to have the ball firs then the ring like a couple of months later?

you can get whatever one you want, it's just better to get the ring to accomodate for swelling.
