Quote Notifications

I was thinking about this earlier today. Wouldn't it be nice if you got a notification when someone quotes you. Often times I'm trying to hold up a conversation in multiple threads, but I end up forgetting to return to one of them. If there was something to tell you that someone is talking directly to you or quoting you it would help. There should be a way to deactivate it, just so people who find the notifications a pain can disable it.

actually..no. The amount of times you can be quoted..would be a lot of uselss notifications. If you could have the OPTION to..but I wouldn't want it personally. 50% of the time it might be peopel just agreeing with you, or somethign which you don't even need to see again.

Yea, figured not everyone would agree that's why I said it should be disabled if you didn't want to be notified.

I personally like reading when someone agrees with me, but again, that's just me.

You can subscribe to threads you like...turn on subscriptions to threads from usercp. Then remove the threads you dont wish yo subscribe from there, like games threads and all etc.

Then check usercp, you will have list of subscribe threads and directly you can see if they are updated with new posts or not.

Hm, yea. That doesn't tell you if someone is speaking directly to you though. =\ You would have to keep checking.

Yeah I think that's a good idea because if someone replies to what you've written by quoting you then you may not go back and check that topic unless you've been notified.

How about, in your list of subscribed threads, there's an additional column that tells you if someone quoted you?

Example: I post in the A B C thread, or countdown from 1000 to 0 and back up. Someone posting in that thread is obviously different than someone *quoting* you in that thread.

That would work as well.

As long as the quote icon goes away after you read the message.
