Why is TeenHut so autocratic?

Why apologise for something we never do? I am tired of saying this over and over again that a member doesnt get banned just for being from LW. They only get banned if they make posts like "TH sucks, LW rocks, leave here go there" etc. Or insults our members or teenhut.

I wasn't apologizing for that. I was apologizing for the mistreatment of the user that created this thread. He hasn't said anything like "TH Sucks" but has respectively show us his point in an organized manner but is receiving negative rep from members. This really does not show TH in a good light. He has not done anything wrong and doesn't deserve to be treated like he has

I for one really appreciate you saying this. I've only just joined, but by looking at my replies here and my account on LW I like to think that I come off as a decent and hopefully even helpful person, and it really frustrates me to feel like so many here discount my advice and opinion for no reason other than what WWW I like to spend time at.

Granted, I know LiveWire is not innocent here, but nor is this place. I feel like so often people forget that there are two sides to every coin.

hmmm. i've always wondered whether or not TH should allow Freedom of Opinions in the Debates and Discussions section, beacuse i think that Debates are, opinionated fights, but i think some would take that a bit too far, so i think it's good as it is. by the way, i've never had the "pleasure" of going to LW, so i think TH is okay. but still, if you're just coming here to post something like "TH sucks! go to LW!" you're just wasting your time. i can see why that would be deleted. it's degrading to this forum.

Actually this isn't done here and if an erring moderator does such a thing, there is always an option to report to the Administrators via PM. Even if a large post contains a single insulting remark or swearword, the entire post is usually trashed rather than modify the offending portion. This gives us a lot of flak from those posters who believe we could have removed only the offending parts, especially in Debate section.

Sometimes, when the forum is under a troll attack, we react instinctively when we see a post of offensive nature. As we are all human and with the same human weaknesses, we make mistakes. Officially we have no hostility towards LW or any forum so long as they don't take a hostile position against us. A member to us is a member, irrelevant of where they come from. As for members who might feel hostile towards LW members, we cannot do much about it. It is their choice and if you feel they break the rules in discrimination, you are free to report their posts/messages.

If you think some other forum is better than TH, live with it. Advertise and argue them in your own forum, but not here, especially not in an insulting nature. We do not claim to be the best, in fact we feel idly flattered when a fan member says so. There is always a room for improvement as are the different reasons why someone prefers one forum over another.

Why is it that posts are edited sometimes when they are somewhat negative, and then changed into posts that only favor Teenhut? Isn't it better to ban the person, let the post just be deleted instead of editing it?

i'm pretty sure that you can, because it would be an advertisement for another site. not a professional one, but it just gets the name around anyway.
