Wanting a relationship?

    • Wanting a relationship?

So just about last year, I, for the first time in my 16 years of life, have finally get the courage to confess to a guy I like. It was very confusing and messy, but I did get the point through with a few poems I wrote in my most emotional times. He replied back with a poem, too, but the main point of it was basically "no".

After that, I've been feeling so ... lonely and unloved and etc. Like, I want the level of love that is above friendship, but don't know how. I've looked around my school, and always have been wondering,

'how come some girls can get a boyfriend so easily, while it's so hard for me?'

      Anyone know?

Well, congratulations on confessing your feelings. It isn't always easy, and maybe the outcome is never desirable, but we do grow from it.

You're still in high school, and as unfortunate as it is to say, many people don't look for love, maybe just pleasure or experience. Why do some girls get boyfriends easily? It's different for everybody, and they all have a rhyme & reason as to why they're in a relationship.
Don't feel down about it, you will find somebody to be with in the future, whether from school, from your city, or even with somebody far away. :)

Perhaps the issue was that you wrote the dude poetry...

I mean, congrats and all for being honest, tbf I'm awful with feelings and shiz in that I NEVER admit I like someone, so I can't really talk. All I'm saying is, most of the guys I'm friends with would freak out if a girl came out with a load of poems she'd written about him. Most of them would probably feel awkward and maybe feel as though you were a little needy, idk.

But that's just the guys I'm friends with. Maybe guys round your parts go for that shiz, idk.

Thanks a lot for the encouraging words :)

And yeah you are right, I do know that most people only look for only having a good time, but I just wanted to wish/hope for a bit. Anyways Thanks ~ :D

Lol, I know, I actually realized this myself, and even felt creeped out by it myself (the poems I mean). But uh yeah ... first time confessing and kind of had lots of peer pressure from my friends/schoolmates.

And yeah, the guys here are kind of different i guess. He was totally cool about it specially since he also had his own moments and wrote a poem back XD

Now we are just normal friends though and we joke around like usual, and I'm on my way of getting over him :)

I think a poem would be pretty cute if a girl gave one to me.
Nothing to deep. Just something borderline I guess. Lightly touching the feelings she has.

I certainly couldn't write one back, but if I had the slightest bit of interest I wouldn't hesitate to ask her out :P but meh, girls at my highschool were just no good.. certainly no girls asking me out. I may be partly to blame for that cause in middle school grade 8 I was asked out like 8 or 9 times but had no interests in girls.. was so innocent and pure then lmao.

What you did takes some serious balls (metaphorically speaking). I don't even have the nerve to do something remotely like that haha so good for you :) Good luck on getting over him and finding the next guy.

I do have to agree with this I'm afraid. The first guy I ever dated wrote me a poem for our first date - a point when he knew virtually nothing about me. I know the situation is different for you, but poems tend to be very deep and personal things so the recipient will either be very touched or very creeped out.

Also, quality>quantity. What I'm trying to say here is that it doesn't matter if every other girl in high school has a 'boyfriend'. Half of them aren't boyfriends, they're 'people I'm dating', which is a very different concept from a relationship. Something's in the future for you and it's probably much more meaningful than 'some girls' have :)

Yeah, gotta agree. That can be taken as coming on too strong and scares people off.
People just want to have fun, a good time, relax, etc. Things aren't too serious at a young age. They get more serious, but to start it should just be all fun.
