I lived in Phoenix, Arizona up until this past year and a good percentage of the student's at my high school spoke very poor English so this doesn't surprise me.

I could find Iraq on a map though.
I could identify most if not all of
Europe, Asia and Africa, South
America and North America.
Oceania and Antarctica of course.
Most of the Americans I know would be able to do the same.
