I'm more inclined towards Progressive rock as opposed to Alternative, however, part of me is in love with Grunge, even if I don't know too many bands.

Not particularly. I'm more into country and rock and roll but I recently listened to 'Black Jesus' by Jay Smith and enjoyed it very much. The rhythm just sets a good mood for me.
