I have mild to moderate face acne and severe back and chest acne. And it sucks a lot. Especially when you live in a country like Greece, where summer vacation = 24/7 at the beach. Well, having a body full of acne is not what people at the beach want to see... And even if I don't want to admit it, it has decreased my self-esteem a LOT. Fortunately I try to be an optimistic person, otherwise I don't know if I could handle it. The best tip you can give to your friend, apart from psychological suppo…

Haha, you forgot the Multiverse theory The only certain thing is that, judging from what we've discovered so far, the universe is tremendously big. So even if the universe has borders, I'd bet my life that there are living beings on most galaxies. Scientists still don't even know whether there is life on our solar system's planets. For example, Europa, the moon of Jupiter has most likely a huge ocean under it's frozen surface. And even Titan, the moon of Saturn looks similar to Earth some millio…

Unlike America, each European country has history at least one millennium year old. Different languages, different traditions, different cultures, different philosophies... If we unite all European nations under one rule we'd do exactly what we're trying to avoid regarding globalisation issue. I think European Union is "suitable" and quite "enough" regarding our union. Strengthening our alliance bonds isn't bad, but not that much !

I wanna make a parenthesis here: I've read a scientific magazine some days ago and there was an article about mental diseases. There was something about homosexuality too: On December 9th 1973, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) published a newer version of the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" (DSM) that had less mental disorders than before. They removed many mental disorders from the list, including homosexuality, because of various reasons, like that fact that h…

Quote from Registrar: “I our (Swiss) schools everyone has to learn English and French (respectively English and German if you live in the French or Italian part of Switzerland). ” Here in Greece students must also learn two foreign languages in school, it's obligatory. The first one is English and the other one is either French, German or Italian. Of course there is a third one, which is the hardest of them all, and it's Ancient Greek. It's really interesting, since every language that uses "abc…

Re: About my name!
Vagos - - General Advice
PostHmm.. Actually you can't pronounce it if you're not Greek and you don't have that accent so in English it cannot be pronounced right so you can pronounce it in any way you want. It's not pronounced like angel but agel (with a "hard" g as in agree). But most english people pronounce those syllabes of my name like angel and it doesn't sound bad either.

Vagos - - General Advice
PostThanks for the replies. Well, words like evangelists etc have their roots on the ancient Greek word evangelos that means: ev + angelos (ευ + άγγελος) = good + messenger/message (= bringing good news). And I forgot to add another option on the poll :(. Many people that are named Evangelos use the name Angelos that it's pretty good in my opinion, what do you think? Miss-morphine, yeah I know that the only name from the list that you could remember is Evan but as you also say I don't wanna have a u…

About my name!
Vagos - - General Advice
PostOk, my first name is completely greek and because it's pretty hard to spell for non-greeks I'd like to ask you which of the following diminutives of my name do you find better. I mean, when I go to other countries which name should I use to introduce myself? My name is ancient greek and it's Evangelos (Ευάγγελος). In Greece most guys that are named Evangelos don't use that name but they use the name Vangelis instead which is a diminutive of Evangelos. Also another popular diminutive is Vagos. I …

Quote from AccessDenied: “]Hey Teddy - all Greeks love blondes - didn't you know that?” Now, seriously, I never expected to hear that from a Greek that doesn't leave in Greece. I mean, you are soooooooooooo right. I can't resist blondes at all. And I don't mean greek blondes but "original" blondes from the west :D. I live in a city next to Piraeus called Moschato.I haven't been to Kalymnos yet but I know it's a nice island. Anyway, on-topic again. Tell me where your school is. I'm an expert on t…

Quote from Capt Sasha: “ In an international forum as this, the term 'America is a super-power' is as relevant as the term "Germans are Nazis". You have to get out of your ignorant Anglo-Saxon shell to realise that they only people who consider Americans as superpowers are the Americans themselves and their Anglo-Saxon satellites like Australia, United Kingdom, etc. ” I agree on that. I mean, if you gonna tell an eastern European for example, that America is a super power he may even laugh. Also…
