Do we have any here? In particular, does anyone play the mighty viola, much like myself?

  • Quote from Tombgeek: “What's happening forum? Warming: Rant and potential spoilers to follow I'm pissed! I just finished watching Lord of the Flies, which if you do not know, is based on the book of the same name. I'm just....irritated. Firstly, the kids in the novel are British, where in the film they are American. Not a huge problem...until I see that Jack is blond! In the novel, he has red hair. What the crap is that about? And he and Ralph are friends in the beginning? That's bullshit. Not t…

  • That's an interesting point actually... There's not really much that can be said.

  • The legal action, admittedly, may be asking a little much... agreed. But perhaps it is a necessary factor to make sure the state learns from the mistakes made?

  • Hopefully, after I finish my wonderful GCSE's, I will move on to study biology, chemistry, maths and latin at A level. Then move on to study medecine at university, and eventually settle down practising as a surgeon. Ambitious, that's me.

  • Hey guys... I was just wondering if anyone could give me any sort of insight or opinion on the Nokia 5230 (sometimes known in the States as the Nokia 5230 Nuron). Just I'm thinking of getting it, and I would like to hear some opinions, aside from those in reviews, about it. Cheers EDIT: Sorry if this is the wrong section to post this in...

I've been playing the piano since I was 7 or 8 I think, so a while. I also play the viola (which I've been playing for 3 1/2 years), and sing bass (the lowest of the low!) in the school Chamber Choir.

  • Well... I do karate all the time, badminton when I feel like it and tennis when it's in season.

That sounds like quite a depressing orchestra... My school has four orchestras in order of ability (Concert, Sinfonia, Symphony, Chamber), and a staff orchestra. Something that's always fun to listen to

Quote from Iceman_: “About 20. This isn't % right? Because then this calculator is about as accurate as using a ruler to measure the distance around the world.” Why %? BMI is a standard unit, its not %. Its a simple calculation: weight _______ height^2

Seriously - don't do it. Value the fact that you are able to have an education, don't throw it away. Maybe, your life just needs re-organising, doing everything in stages so allowing you to keep up with your social life, your school work, your homework and your free time. Think about it - its worth it, Mark

  • The likeliest thing is that there is absolutely nothing you can do directly to help her. Understandably, this may seem disappointing as you obviously care a lot for her, but you have to understand that it is only her willpower that will get her off the drugs. The best thing that you can do is to tell someone who can aid her in getting the professional help she needs. Someone like her parents or her teachers. Someone who will support her for every step of the way. Obviously, the rehabilitation pr…

Its a really nice poem; the meaning can be interpreted in different ways, but the general imagery created by it paints a picture in the mind. (Sorry, English lessons are coming back to me)

  • Don't worry; you'll find friends in a harsh environment such as this one. Just be yourself, and identify the people that you can talk to, the ones that won't say anything. Those people are out there - you just have to make an effort to look for them. I'm sure there'll be a girl who doesn't take the p*ss as well, you just have to find her. But remember, there are people that you can speak to. Things like this don't have to remain bottled up. Best of Luck, Mark

  • Believe me - you're not the only person to ever feel like this. But violence and/or suicide never solves the problems. It just gets the people around you into the problems the surrounded you - never a good thing. As for people missing you if you died, the answer to that is obvious. They would! No matter what their outlook on you now, they will regret everything if you leave them. School - if you sort the rest of your problems out, then the improvement in school grades will follow. Just try your …
