I find that CS4 is more easy to use although if I had the chance to go back I'd have stuck with CS2... the newer-ness is just sounds more professional and it has a few new features, a nice new interface. I have plenty enough power on my new machine to run CS4 (and a game at the same time) so I'm not too worried about CPU/GPU use. I don't even know if it's a step up, they did add 3d support I believe though. (Or was that only on Flash CS4?)

The only thing I can think of for the second one is to get a laptop or another computer, you can pick one up cheap that will do what you need in town I guess.
