Most below $1000 have shitty integrated graphics, a Celeron (at best) processor, and maybe 1 GB RAM.” This year I got a pc for 1300 with tax (but that includes my 150-300 dollar monitor, depends where you buy it) I got a: Core i7 920 2.66 ghz 12 gb 1333 ram (6x2gb) Dual slot radeon 4850 1gb Monitor Acer H233H 23" 1tb hd Intel 58x motherboard (acer modified ) The rest of the specs are standard and on board sou…

nah if I want to order a pc from dell. you can upgrade from 12gb to 24!!! for like 2500. If I remember correctly I can put a max of 64 gigs of ram on vista 64-bit. Not that I know of any pc that could fit 64 on the motherboard. From Keznews: However, given proper hardware, namely if the mainboard can handle increased amounts of system memory, Windows 7 Ultimate is ready to swallow no less than 192 GB of RAM. keznews.com/5605_Windows_7_-_Maximum_Supported_RAM_is_192_GB

I can easily make changes to hardware as needed. Much harder to do with a laptop, for me at least. I also don't think it's worth the extra money considering this is only for while i'm at school. I'll be using my desktop at home.

I do think I might drag around an extra keyboard though unless I find anything better. Price is also a very determining factor. I'm spending more of the allotted money on my desktop. I'd have to downgrade that a bit if I wanted to upgrade the laptop. I've also heard good hings about this one and it's about the same price: canadacomputers.com/index.php?…id=021447&cid=896.862.656 nvm …
