  • Quote from captain_kurenai: “A note on the bolded: If that is so, then why do you need to be afraid anyways? You said it yourself, you don't know much about the new system, you don't know what's in the bill, so what is there to be afraid of? So, about your ethnic cleansing I raise the same question. Your basing your fears off of basically ... nothing. Basically, I don't feel that you're making any valid point since, as I said, you're getting your opinion from nothing. Also, what do you know of t…

  • The reason people come to the U.S. for medical care is because they have to wait ridiculous and sometimes life-threatening amounts of time to get help. There is rationing. As it stands, we don't have that in the U.S. The bit about ethnic cleansing is in regards to the fact that the government can determine whether or not your claim is "legitimate" in the new system. If it were corrupted, they could eliminate anybody they wanted to. How much do we actually know about this new system? Do we know w…

  • If our health care system is so awful, why do people from all over the world come here for their most important medical issues? The extent to which the government would have power in this system is scarily like those Utopian novels. It's rationing and could very easily lead to ethnic cleansing if it gets out of hand. That's why I'm referring to it as socialism.

  • The difference here is that fundamental changes are being made to what was the foundation of the United States. That's not your average presidential nonsense.

Jackie Greene has some music on his website...unfortunately, I can't post the link because apparently I don't have enough posts.

  • Quote from Jlx: “May I ask a question? why are you saying that Obama's work is wrong? Is socialism unthinkable in United State? I'm french so it's really hard for me to have an objective judgement of the question. For European People B.Obama seems to be a messiah.” Certainly. I'm fundamentally and morally against socialism because it (especially in its extreme forms) destroys the individual and emphasizes pretty darn near totalitarian government control. Equality is obviously important, but peop…

  • He's dreadfully naive. I think that he is focused wholly on what he wants (which is, more or less, socialism), and will push anyone out of the way who opposes that. I don't think he is comprehending that that is wrong, though.

  • I think it's sweet if a boy pays, but then I feel really bad, so I'm for half and half.

  • Why do you want to be friends with her if she treats you like that?

It sounds like you have a really supportive and strong family, which is so important. You also seem like a great sister. I'm glad she's doing well. Bipolar issues are nothing to take lightly, though, and don't think that you should ignore it because of your sister's health or anything. You deserve to be happy.

  • People are always going to make stupid comments like that, unfortunately. I think that if you are a guy with a female best friend, it really shows that you are compassionate and understanding. That will get you a lot of girls, which will prove those other people wrong. One of my best friends is a guy and I don't know what I'd do without him.

  • Quote from aleaiactaest: “I saw Anything Goes ages ago, and as I recall it was actually good. So, that's my favourite.” I absolutely love that musical. Ethel Merman is incredible, and Cole Porter is a genius. Musical theatre is my favorite. =) My favorite show is Les Mis. Phantom of the Opera, Anything Goes, Wicked, and Oklahoma are also up there. My school did Sweeney Todd this past year and I was in the ensemble, and that was also an awesome show.

Jackie Greene is really awesome and not well-known. He's kind of Bob Dylan style.
