Quote from lcky: “It sounds like they've gone techno. I guess some people are into that kind of thing, but I'm more into alternative rock. Their new sound definitely is unrecognizable and I don't like it. I like bands that stay the same and don't conform to society's fads. Some may call it fresh, I call it selling-out.” The thing is, I don't get how its called selling-out when you go from Alternative rock (what makes up the top 40) to something that is obscure in comparison. To say that their ne…

Quote from Tombgeek: “Linkin' Park is overhyped in my opinion. They are not the best band ever. But I will not argue that their album Hybrid Theory was brilliant. But they've change ever since the release of Minutes To Midnight. They'll go back to their roots once they realize they are not giving the fans what they want. I'm not going to waste my money of their new album. I've got my eyes on this: Disturbed-Asylum_3.jpg” I just wanted to throw in that that I found this album was the epitome of b…

Quote from Alejandro: “I heard you can only play Terran campaign .. for $60. Talk about greed.” While money probably was a part of this decision, the amount of missions you get is still equivalent to the amount in the old game. All they did was make the campaign Terran focused, rather than have three races with only a few missions for each. Nobody lost anything from it; in fact, having played it, I love the depth of the game, although some of those lines, ughh.

Quote from Dangels: “Rap, Hip Hop, Heavey Metal.... why, because I like music with meaning & songs that I can understand the words lol. I don't know why else.... personal prefference, I guess.” Heavy Metal in itself actually has very understandable lyrics and words; contrary to what many believe metal doesn't have to involve screaming or growling (which isn't bad either, in my opinion though). Oh, and don't say that some types of music have meaning and others don't; I may not like Hip Hop and Ra…

I breezed through in one sitting the day I got the game, definitely a so-so campaign. I mean, even the the nuke killing your character in the 1st one was so powerful and widely-applauded, did they have to kill literally most of the cast. I works one time, but when you do it over and over again, …

Eh, I don't really hate any genre per say, but if I had to choose one, it would be Hip Hop/Rap. I can stand it, but only just that. And, to contribute to the Heavy Metal discussion; the joys of listening to music are not only to find things you like, but to actually look for more. You may hate all of the metal you have heard, but, sooner or later some bands might just click with you. Until you actually try to listen to it though, you really should avoid dismissing the genre itself. This is espec…

Quote from Murder 101: “Overrated crap imho” While your entitled to your opinion, The Beatles pioneered music as it is today. They introduced new ways to record and play music and evolved so much during their career. Their experimental style is what defined a whole era and inspired so many musicians. Its one thing not to like their music, but still, you can't deny they are the most influential band that has ever existed. (Behind classical composers, of course) Yeah though, I like the Beatles qui…

Expanding on what I said before, his art style is incredibly and, to me, is probably one of the the most interesting and beautiful I've seen. The problem with his movies, in my opinion, is that they feel very similar to each other, almost a bit too similar. The motifs in his films reoccur quite often, lead actors are often the same, and his former mentioned style doesn't help either. (Something that the video above me shows in a humorous manner) Still, while this is a bit unfortunate, I think it…

Quote from chocoloca: “Nowadays, as long as you have the looks, be able to dance and sing, you'll be famous. No matter if you sound or look gay or not. lol The music industry is certainly not about talents for being a real musician anymore, it's all about the money making entertainment pigs.” The sad thing is, you don't even need to sing on key anymore, Autotune smooths everything out. Hell, most mainstream pop/rap stars today don't even write most of the crap they sing. Its sad, very sad.

(Single Player games are much more varied on the PS3 though.) Both have great games, and you couldn't go wrong with both. Oh, and, the last time I heard about PS3 errors, I heard Sony charged to fix them,…

Quote from Aleksandr: “Get a PS3 because 360s break after one month and you have to pay Microsoft to use it, Microsoft is also raising the price of Live so that's another problem. They also are going to replace the 360 sooner than the PS3 so you have even less time to use it. The 360 can't play Blu-Rays or you can't hook up your own 500GB HD to it to watch movies. The 360 may have more games but none of them are good unless you like Halo or Tears of War. Kinect is going to suck compared to PlayS…

I dislike that Justin Bieber is famous simply due to the fact that he really doesn't have any actual talent, his music is only really popular among preteen girls. Its terrible to know that he became famous and rewarded when thousands of struggling musicians out in the world are still unable to achieve success.

Quote from Esmo: “Bland. Just bland.” Pretty much this. Nickelback has always been incredibly generic to me, music that really doesn't change or evolve. It seems they just saw success with one album and just stuck to that sound and played it safe. The fact that they are still successful is pretty surprising, with the constant bashing they get from critics and people alike. I really don't care what they do though, I just hope bands today don't follow Nickleback's suit though, of stagnating rather…

IIRC if you get a Apple computer or something that can put music on it like an MP3 player by Apple, it only lets you play songs that you purchased on the store.” I believe it was in general, both digitally and physically purchased. In fact, here is the article The Latest Startling Stats Out of NARM... Of course, one reason for this could be the rising amount of albums released each year, but still, no doubt piracy has some effect.

I would post my top 25, but I haven't used iTunes in like a year, prefer using Winamp.

  • While I agree with most of what is above me, I have to say that the piracy of music does hurt many of the smaller artists. I mean, less than 2% of albums released in 2009 sold more than 5000; thats terrible, a huge low. Still, there has to be a better way to go about piracy than this.
