I play Clarinet. Group 6 open class
But I don't think you can consider it a sport. We work hard at band camp and practice and everything, and people semi get in shape from it. But I don;t think its a sport. |

You can get just about anybody to carry a ball down a field and smack somebody on the opposing team... BIG WHOOP. I understand that your sport demands a lot of hard work and dedication... but oh my gosh... it's football.
I don't think there is anything more rewarding than the musical arts. I can't say much on marching band, seeing as I am (nor have I ever been apart of one) but I have dedicated the last eight years of my life to a private choir. Some of the most physically demanding situations I have been in have been through choir. Not through any of the sports I play.

And I do understand how sports can take a toll on you physically. I play club soccer. I almost had to quit a few years back because of the danger of getting yet another concusion. And of course that's not the only way soccer has vexed me, I've broken more bones than I would admit.
I can get that to some people it's important, I still do not respect it. What do you want me to say to that... I'm sorry you could find nothing more stimulating than football to fill your time with?
Okay, and obviously choir is not as physically demanding as football. At least not school choirs. I'm talking 'bout the 'mo 'fuckin PGC here. The musical arts defeat football. I can read music like a pro and have also learned to compose my own pieces, because of my extensive knowledge in musical theory I am able to pick up practically any instrument and not be entirely lost when given no instruction on how to play. I have traveled to France, Germany and Canada, which will be repeated this year so that I (and my choir) may sing in the biggest singing festival in North America. I have been able to experience different cultures, meet different people all over the world, expand my knowledge of the world in which I live in.
Football is more rewarding than that?

Money: -62 | Re: marching band I believe that Marching Band is just as diffcult as any sport. I'm in Marching band and I play Football. A lot of kids at my school are in a sport and the Band. We train day and night for our competitions, starting from 5 in the morning to about 9 at night. People don't understand how hard it is, not only to me memorize crazy ass routines that take some pretty fancy endurance to travel by, but we have to memorize the music (hardest music since it is a competition), we have to be able to control our breath for long times, we have to control our speed, and our level of energy. We have to work as a family just like any team would. I love football and band, but i fucking hate people who attack one or the other. Just get a life and show ur other school members that they are just as important as you.

I'm going to be in it next year. I play clarinet for three years now and not bragging but I'm the best clarinet player in my band (which is the top one) My teachers tell me I need more competion so oh well. |
