My school really fucked up with the SATs this year.
They have a reading paper on Shakespeare and our school chose "The Tempest". They were "almost sure" the question would be on this character, Caliban, so they've been ranting on for like a whole term about him.
And then guess what?
The question was about some dude called Stephano!! So here's me, sat there for 45 mins doing nothing cause I know shit about it!
God, if I'm in bottom class next year I'm gonna kick off big time.
ah your in the UK hhaaaaa your worrying about SATS?!
seriously man they are NOTHING, the only reason they have them is so that the government can check up on how the school is doing. They mean jack all...really, trust me, I can't even really remember what I got in mine, they don't use the results for anything.
Well in my school apparently they use them to asses us and to see what class we go into in year 10.. Doesn't really make sense.. They should be assessing our work throughout the year, right?
well yeah okay to a certain extent it sets your classes for next year, but they look at all your work, not just one test you've done, that wouldn't be fair, even if yo do move down a set, it's easy to go back up if you just put some effort in, oh and also if the difference in sets means the difference betwene higher/foundation paper next year then all you neeed to do is get a letter written explaining that youw ant to do the higher paper, but the teachers usually let you decide what tier of entry you want to be put in for. Really trust me on this you have nothign to worry about if you do bad it sucks a bti yeah lets the morale down, but it's no big deal. Not for SATS anyway, I can't even remember anyone doing revision for them.
If you feel you did that bad, go see your teacher and explain but if I were you, I wouldn;t even do that, not many set changes happen from them.
Wait, are SATs different in other parts of the world? Are you talking about the test that colleges look at (really annoying) or state testing (really easy)? Here in Cali we call it STAR testing and CSTs... (the latter) But if you're in UK... then I don't even know lol...

True. I spent ages revising for my year 9 SATs, most revion I've ever done for a test, and the results don't even matter. I kinda wish I'd saved it up to do my GCSEs and AS levels, but ah well. :/
Ahhh GCSE? AS? I am totally lost lol. Oh well, all I can say is, if it's any kind of state testing that doesn't go to colleges, don't worry about it. Sounds like the CSTs here which even the teachers laugh off (well, most, but they act concerned because it is their job to, lol).
