Re: Royal Marines Commando's
i remember when i was younger i wanted to go SAS and be a sniper and stuff and expect to blow shit up but its nothing like that in real life, you get sent into fucking afghan or some eastern country dig up a hole hide in it for 1 week or more and do surveilance work. Its not all fun and games in special forces, its nothing like the films. sorry to piss on your trolley mate.

Hollywood characters are excessively glamourised and aren't really role models for real life. They are designed to showcase America, not unlike what you see in commercials. You expect bangs when you buy into it and may not even find the sparks.
For example military agents don't drive sophisticated Aston Martins, don't wear Gucci overcoats, don't sleep around with the prettiest women, don't get 'license to kill' and neither do they transfer classified files via satellite networks in high speed TGV trains. It is all fantasy and glamour with little to no reality.
