No.
If you want to go for spec ops when your older then either go for the commandos or paras. There both elite but have different roles. Paras-does what it says on the tin, parachuting, light infantry-1.5 miler run ijn under 7 mins for pjft!
Marines-heavy infantry-under 10 mins for pjft, they can go land sea or air using landing craft and sea kings but you can also do parachuting aswell but you wont really need it.
ha. me. the rmc is classed as special forces is it not?
No, marines of any kind are more of specialised naval units rather than special forces. SAS and SRR are the current military special forces of United Kingdom.
Special forces function more as state-funded autonomous military units, that conduct reconaissance operations and unconventional warfare, not very unlike mercenaries.

i woz always taught to define special forces as military units trained for unconventional operations. weather these be sas, french foreign legion, and that the rmcs changed their role in ww2 to attack german coastal position. and working on hit and run, and snatch and grab missions behind enemy lines. they also worked side by side with the sas and sbs and are currently doing so today. btw, its one hell of a good job that theyre doing out there
