Well, didn't see anywhere else to put it, so i thought I;d post a thread about books here. lol So, i just got (and am almost done reading) this realy awesome book called "What's a ghoul to do?" By Victoria Laurie (she's the author of the Psychic Eye series). It is waaaay good. lol
After I read that I'm either going to read "City of Bones" (forgot the author's name) or 'The Dead Girls' Dance" by Rachel Caine.
....nice titles, eh? lol
So, what have ya'll been reading/going to read? lol Oh, and has anyone else read the books i just mentioned? lol
I love books, but I've had so little time for reading recently. Mostly I only have time to do homework and go to school and piano lessons. And when I do read it's mostly non-fiction, because I love to learn and research.
Anyway, I'll try to talk about what I've read anyway. This one isn't so recent but I LOVE it, I think it is probably my favorite book of all time. It's called The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. LeGuin, and it's sort of a weird sci-fi/fantasy/freakishness kind of book. The plot is really interesting and compelling but it also gets deeply philosophical (LeGuin is a Buddhist/Taoist.) The premise is really simple and at first you think "Well, that's not very original" but by the book you're completely wowed by how beautiful and new it is. And the characters are so compelling--especially the Aldebaranians and Orr's therapist (I'm not going to tell you who the Aldebaranians are, 'cause I hate spoilers Suffice it to say they ain't from around here.)
Yeah, this is the kind of book I rave about. I'm probably not presenting it that well. But try it, seriously. It may not feel like your kind of book but I hated it the first time I tried to read it and loved it the second time.
(For those who are not easily wowed by inner-hidden-deeper-secret-meanings, yes, it *does* have sex.)

lol sounds cool. I've actually only read one book by her though. Forgot what it was called though.... >_<
I did just go to a booksale that the humane society was holding at the mall though, and they had a book by her that I got. It's called "The telling". I haven't hada chance to read it yet though. I'm Waaaaaay behind in my reading. haha And i shouldn't even be reading right now since I'm *supposed* to be studying for my end of the year tests that my mom just ordered. >_< oh well, reading's more fun anyway. lol

I haven't heard of The Telling. Have you read any of the Earthsea trilogy? Those are excellent also.

I did read one, but I can't remember th title. And it was a bit like another story that i was reading at the time, so I wouldn't be able to tell you what happened or who was in it since the stories kinda blended toegther in my mind. >_< lol
i recently read this book called star-crossed by racheal wing (she's like 14) and i have to say that the book was wicked i mean i read it twice in a day! i liked it so much i dunno why it was just great! she did a great job of writing the book!
Wow. She wrote it when she was 14? lol that's amazing. I haven't heard of it though. *makes mental note to look for it next time she goes to barnes & noble* lol
