Fahrenheit 451
The Long Walk
Animal Farm
Slaughterhouse Five
Used to love the 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' series but haven't read them in a long time. |

I didn't think classic american literature was appreciated much outside of America. Harper Lee did so well. It truly is a fantastic book. Quote: |
The fountainhead is her weakest book. Anthem and Atlas Shrugged win the day for me.
| I can't agree. I really enjoyed Atlas Shrugged but The Fountainhead takes it for me. I have been meaning to go out and by Anthem but have yet to do so.

Money: -5,170 | Re: Favourite Book I love reading, but I'm more into the fantasy settings. My all-time hands-down favorite series in A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin, a fantastic series. It currently has four books, with a fifth that has been pushed back for over a year now. All in all it's going to end with seven books. Anybody who likes a medieval setting without the cliche elves or dwarves, or cliche magic, but want a down-to-earth gritty and deep book, check out A Song of Ice and Fire series. They're aimed for adults, so they're a lot more mature and gritty.
In my Honors LA class this year I'm required to read at least a book a quarter outside of class, so I'm going to start reading more official literature.

I don't think classic american literature is particularly not appreciated over here, it's pretty good as far as I'm concerned... |
