Putrid green pinafore, blazer and jumper (for years 9 to 12) white shirt, black tights, tie, black school shoes, and the jumper which is black for years 13 and 14. Luckily this year the year 13/14 are getting skirts. Can't wait. First time my school has ever allowed skirts!
We also have a PE uniform. Which is the school tracksuit. And a field trip uniform which is black trousers and a regulation jumper.
(Just incase you are wondering, black jumper and skirt is for 6th years only (year 13/14 = age 16/18)
It is also an all girls school, and it's not private (you don't have to pay to go) you just have to get good 11+ results to get in. |

They just need a better kind of material but they don't want to waste their money on that. |

Money: -624 Points: 18,670, Level: 33 | | Re: Uniforms at school !? We have [had - as I don't go there anymore] uniform in primary school and high school.
The primary school one wasn't totally compulsory, so you could wear any red top instead of the red jumper and you were OK.
The high school one, you could get away with wearing different shoes or not having a shirt on under your jumper, or sometimes even black jeans instead of black school trousers, but you'd have to spend the entire day hiding in crowds of people so teachers wouldn't spot you.
General uniform:
White polo shirt
Black school pants, black skirt [must be below the knees]
Black tights [if you're wearing the skirt]
White or black socks [but we all just wear whatever]
Black school shoes [no trainers, sandals, etc] [but people wore Converse and got away with it]
Green jumper if you're in Year 7, 8, or 9
Maroon jumper if you're in Year 10 or 11
PE uniform:
Dark blue trackies
Light blue polo shirt with school logo
Dark blue hoodie with school logo [optional]
Trainers [no Converse]
White socks [only one or two teachers would pick that out]
Jewellery was limited to studs to fill whichever holes you have in your ears, nose, and navel piercings were a no-no. If you hide it, that's fine, but for PE it had to be out. There were a few girls with snakebites, but they never got told off.
Make up was 'frowned upon' but we all wore it anyway, cause it's an all girls' school, so whatever. No one everrr wore lipstick though, cause that would just be weird.
Where I'm going in September, I have to wear 'smart dress', meaning suits and stuff. It's a sixth form, so I don't think jeans will be appreciated. I'm glad I have 8 pairs of black pants from high school then. |

Money: -625 | Re: Uniforms at school !? Yeah the only good thing about uniforms is being able to wear a really short skirt lol. I knew a girl who had the same skirt from first year right up to fifth year...
But get this...they designed a new skirt so that we would look presentable! I swear to God it is like a parachute and you cant even roll it up properly |

From grades 1-6 you had to wear this horrible plaid jumpers with a white shirt underneith. Then you had to wear knee-high green socks and black shoes. The boys wore grey pants, black shoes, white shirts and plaid ties. Once you got to 7-8 grade girls wore a plaid pleated skirt, white shirt and a green vest. Boys outfits didn't change.
The uniforms were horrible. Girls couldn't wear makeup, we couldn't dye our hair, etc. My principle threatened to give me a detention because I got blond highlights that were almost the same color as my hair. My mom was a hair dresser for god's sake. I also got in trouble for wearing mascara. x.x
Now I go to public school, but I do kinda miss not having to worry about what to wear... |

Money: -252 | Re: Uniforms at school !? Well i'm in university now so no i don't, however for primary (4-12yrs old) and secondary (12-17 or 18 yrs old) school i had to wear one. In primary school i had to wear a red tartan kilt, navy jumper and white shirt with navy knee socks and black shoes. My secondary school one was worse again, it was a blue jumper, a green and blue tartan kilt, grey shirt, a freaking blue tie, navy knee socks or black tights and black shoes. We also had a blazer in secondary school, it was navy with the school crest on it. |
