Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
I've been having problems with 'heavy periods' for months now. But the question is what should i have to make them lighter? The doctor prescribed me on Tranxeamic acid last month, i started taking it a few days before my monthley was due. Already it is five days late! Anyway it started and its just the same as before. Can infections make them heavier? The second day becomes heavier and stops me from going out!
Its depressing

Re: Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
How is that serious?
It maybe just hormonal imbalance or something. Many girls have heavy periods.
This medication may not suit me afterall.
The pill is another option, but i want to take a pill which wont give too many common side effects.

Re: Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
Yeah go on birth control.
They have the hormones that can balance you out.
I have been on the pill almost a month now and it works fine.
I haven't had any side effects at all.
And the nice thing is too, you can skip the sugar pills and start right into a new pack if something is going on that it would be difficult to have your period.
I love it.
I can control my period now.

Re: Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
Oh! It makes it lighter?
Does it not make your mood swings more all over the place though?
Has it given you any side effects?
I understand we're all different, but just from your view.

Re: Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
Oh god I know what you mean! I hate my periods too. Seriously, mine are so heavy and I needed to sit on a bench in the mall because of course, that's the day it decided to come I needed to take 4 extra strength midols it's horrible when mine comes around. I get nauseus and dizzy and cramped up and feel like crap the whole time.
Birth control can make it lighter and they are coming out with pills that help you to have lighter and less periods. I heard they're making one where you never get your period, which would be nice. Might not be a good idea if you want kids, though. Talk to your doctor about it again, make sure you check with him/her on side effects too. Some of them can cause blood clots but it's very unlikely sometimes.

Re: Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
Really?
I agree. Stopping the period is going against nature though I agree, it would be nice though.
Well i went today, she didnt think it seemed like anything serious or abnormal.
I might possibly have contraceptive pill, effective and hardly any side effects IF ANY.
Only worry i have about going on them is it can increase the chances of getting breast cancer.
Is this something i should worry about? Or the other serious illnsses.

I've seen one where you only get your period 4 times a year. 4 TIMES. how cool is that?

it really increases the chances of blood clots, but mainly for smokers. but if you're worried you can always just get monthly checkups. i've been on the pill for 6 months now, and recently i've been getting a lot of headaches. i'm not sure if they're related to the pills, but i'm getting it checked out when i go for my refills.

Re: Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
what pill is that?
Well i tend to go for something that has less common side affects tbh.
My fam history havent been known for thrombosis etc therefore its unlikely ill get one.
I think it is rare anyway though.

Re: Problem with monthleys, AGAIN!
Ive been on the pill for a year now and Ive experienced quite a few side effects although it can be different for everyone. I gained quite a bit of weight since going on it, my mood swings are terrible and I have really bad head aches. I dont know if they are all connected. However the pill did make my period alot lighter and really helps with the cramps.
