Dk if i should have posted this here..
But anyway i opened this for a little advice. I know none of you are doctors or anything, but if you could help me on this it would be much appreciated!
Since the past 6 months or so both me and my mentor at college have thought i possibly might have some sort of disorder. Reason why, several reasons really. My head works differently to a lot of other peoples who dont seem to have a disorder like this. I recently heard of ADHD and was wandering if the symptoms i write here about myself add this up with this disorder. Also, how can i be sure if i have this? I have an idea i do by what my behavior etc is like, how i am in general. These are the things that got me thinking of ME and why i think i have this disorder...
- Being distracted easily
- Blurting out innapropiate comments at innapropiate times
- Overactive
- Livelyness
- Excessive talking
- Lazyness, disrespect, needy
- Difficulty in following instructions
- Clumsy
- Unpredictable
- Unable to respond to discipline
- Interruptive
- Difficulty in quiet activites
- Getting into things
- Defiancy
- Impatient
- Disorganization, forgetfullness
etc

Re: Dk if i should have posted this here..
i think you might be ADHD also if those are your symptoms, but not all fall into that category. there's a test that they do to see if you are ADHD.

Re: Dk if i should have posted this here..
Sounds like ADHD. You take a test basically where you answer a certain amount of questions and a doctor goes over it. If he/she thinks you have it then you will get put on medicine for it. If not, you will deal with it by yourself.
My four and six year old cousin is ADHD and has to take pills.

Re: Dk if i should have posted this here..
Sorry, Lots of information but thease are the symptoms of the 3 diff types of ADHD.
Inattention- Often does not give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork, work, or other activities.
- Often has trouble keeping attention on tasks or play activities.
- Often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly.
- Often does not follow instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores, or duties in the workplace (not due to oppositional behavior or failure to understand instructions).
- Often has trouble organizing activities.
- Often avoids, dislikes, or doesn't want to do things that take a lot of mental effort for a long period of time (such as schoolwork or homework).
- Often loses things needed for tasks and activities (e.g. toys, school assignments, pencils, books, or tools).
- Is often easily distracted.
- Is often forgetful in daily activities.
- Six or more of the following symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity have been present for at least 6 months to an extent that is disruptive and inappropriate for developmental level:
Hyperactivity- Often fidgets with hands or feet or squirms in seat.
- Often gets up from seat when remaining in seat is expected.
- Often runs about or climbs when and where it is not appropriate (adolescents or adults may feel very restless).
- Often has trouble playing or enjoying leisure activities quietly.
- Is often "on the go" or often acts as if "driven by a motor".
- Often talks excessively.
Impulsivity- Often blurts out answers before questions have been finished.
- Often has trouble waiting one's turn.
- Often interrupts or intrudes on others (e.g., butts into conversations or games).
- Some symptoms that cause impairment were present before age 7 years.
- Some impairment from the symptoms is present in two or more settings (e.g. at school/work and at home).
- There must be clear evidence of significant impairment in social, school, or work functioning.
- The symptoms do not happen only during the course of a Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Schizophrenia, or other Psychotic Disorder. The symptoms are not better accounted for by another mental disorder (e.g. Mood Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Dissociative Disorder, or a Personality Disorder).

Re: Dk if i should have posted this here..
some of these symptoms are actually attributed to being gifted but having nothing to do with your abilities, so think about that before you go diagnosing yourself.

Re: Dk if i should have posted this here..
You could have a combination of Aspergers(sp) and ADHD. Aspergers is when you feel awkward in social surroundings, while ADHD explains mostly everything else. I wouldn't go about diagnosing yourself or asking for people online to diagnose you.
I would personally seek professional help, if you really think this is a hinderance to your daily life than get tested. If you don't think this is a hinderance to your life don't worry about it.

I des affect me in social conversations though.
Im not asking to be diagnosed online AT ALL

Re: Dk if i should have posted this here..
I dont believe ADHD exists. people these days are taking random personality traits and habits and turning them into disorders and syndroms. no offense to at all though. i think that its just part of who you are and that you should get tested, because ridalin can fix all that
