Staring at bright light sources like computer screens at night is a surefire way to ensure insomnia (i.e sleeplessness). Our brain is programmed to respond to darkness by driving up serotonin levels causing sleepiness' Looking at brights lights inhibits this process and hence things like this thread.

I have the same problem. I just read or listen to some calm music. Mine is due to my bad headachs I get and depression.

Meh. I've been falling asleep now. And sleeping for 10+ hours. I wake up at like, 12:30 PM every single day now. But I'm still really tired when I wake up. I'm exhausted right now, and I haven't even been up for 12 hours. | |

it's a bit extreme. but I stayed awake for 36 hours, and then went to bed.
I felt half dead, but it did help me get back in to a routine. (which has since disappeared since it's 4:30am and I haven't slept yet. oops.) | |

you said you are extreemly stessed-that is the problem...think about what you are stressed about and then do somthing about it, if it is uni corsework due in soon, make a start on it, if it is family issues, discuss it...dont keep everything botteled up.
