self concious....spot help...

Hi, I have a spot/scarring problem. I dont have many spots as such, but i have a lot of red blemishes where spots where (i have quite pale skin), and just general scarring in regions of my face. I've had this for about a year now and its making me extremly self concious. I've tried changing my diet completly, and eating healthily (although i do find myself cheating). I've tried drinking tonnes of water, spot creams, you name it i've tried it.

and its not just puberty, i've been through puberty, Im 17.

Im seeing very little improvement and its gotten to a stage where i avoid seeing my girl friend because i think she'll be repulsed by me. I would post a picture but the problem doesn't show up very well in pictures. I just look in the mirror sometimes and feel disgusted. I know theres no miracle cure for scarring/spots but does anyone know anything that would help? or that has worked for them?

thanks

Re: self concious....spot help...

try looking around the internet at which creams have helped most people, i can't say i've had any problems with spots, apart from the few that everyone gets, if you think they're bad enough then go to the docotr and they'll prescribe soemthing for you, if not then avoid chocolate and keep eating healthyily even though your 17 things might be changing in you still.

Re: self concious....spot help...

hmmmm...that might be an idea, but then again it is mostly spot scarring, not actual spots. Couldn't hurt to try anyway, thanks for the help : )

Re: self concious....spot help...

your not finished puberty at 17. i have pale skin andthe same red patch on my forehead but i wear foundation which i guess isnt a option for you normal teenage boy lol. what about vitamin e cream. you don't need spot creams if you dont have spots its the scaring so look for scar reducing creams.

Re: self concious....spot help...

I've had problems with skin before - eczema to be exact. I must have washed my bra in bad laundry soap that made it break out.. my entire boob was covered in gross, nasty dry skin. I felt so gross and disgusting. The only thing that helped me was using a fragrance free creme/lotion specialized for dry and sensitive skin. It is called Eucerine and can be found in Walgreens, Walmarts, etc. It cured my problem after only applying it twice - and I'd been struggling with it for over 3 months.

Re: self concious....spot help...

Ask your GP for medical advice, they can prescribe treatment for scarring and acne. They will more than likely give you a prescription cream and steroids for treatment.

Avoid irritating your skin using soaps, switch to a product like Dermalogica Anti Bac Wash or Zirh Clean if you can afford it (these products are *expensive*..), Always wash with warm water (but *never* hot.). As for scarring, if your skin is scarred, it can be completely treated in most cases so don't worry about it.

Bio-Oil? You can use it for scars I think... it's a bit expensive but it does work well. :]
