Hey everyone!

I thought i'd start 2008 with a new Vlog entry, a bit more reflective and talking about an experience which certainly changed my life...teaching and working in an Orphanage for 3 years in South Africa last year (which was so fantastic i'm returning in 9 days time!)

I have only positive things to say about the experience, and would be more than happy to talk to anyone considering doing something similar more about what it was like out there, and what they should prepare themselves for

Also thought it would be a good thread to discuss the merit of having a Gap Year against going directly to University, as i'm sure people will have their own views on it!

Sounds like a good experience, but not for me.
When I grow up, I want to do something in Science, Mathematics or I.T I think.
But it's seems good for people who aren't really sure and who know's I might not have a clue what I want to do when I grow up.
Have you got any video of that party or the kids or anything like that?

Well as I say if you know, or have a very good idea, of the type of thing you'd like to do and a type or job you'd like to achieve - and what to study to get it - then going Uni straight from A Levels can be great...

It's just that I know so many people who didn't, just picked a degree out of their A Levels which really won't relate to their future career (History etc) and wasted most of their first year....just because they weren't passionate about it and were just doing a degree for the sake of it...

Having that year out was so beneficial for me....and the experience really allowed me to put things in perspective and stop myself going to Uni too soon which I do think would have been the wrong choice

Anyway, in terms of videos of the kids and such like, I do but haven't uploaded them online, but I have lots of pictures....I won't bore you too much but here's a few of my favourites...

im only 13 though so what i want to do could easily change.

Yeah so cute, potentially the cutest little kid I have ever met I think!

Defo best to make sure you have at least a good idea of where you want to be....but then, equally i'm not saying you should end up taking yet another Gap Year like me, but I think a happy medium would be good!!
