Home School
Wow.. I feel like I messed up my life. 1st Semester of 9th grade, I had alot of normal friends and a couple of really good friends. I was happy and fine but then I recieved a letter in the mail about Online School. So I looked it up and thought it would be pretty cool, I was most interested about how I can finish school months early and stuff.. And I thought that I can just go out for sports with my friends so I can socialize.. Anyways I started signing up about a month before the 1st semester ended( I would start 2nd semester). I started to think that my friends would find new friends and then I would lose my friends and end up with a pretty boring life. And didn't tell anybody that I was gonna do Online school because I didn't want them to get all spazzed at me so it would ruin the rest of my time at the regular school. So today is the 1st day, and the online school is awesome, I finished 3 days of homework the first day and i'm probly gonna finish months early. But then my friend texted me "Wow why would you do online school? Ur gonna have no life, and you'll never see anybody." That's what I was thinkin this whole time but that just made it way worse... And now I just got a note from my online school saying I might not be able to go out for the Sports at my regular school... So I was just thinking to go back to regular school next year. But my friends might have new friends and that might suck.. So I don't know what to do.. I want to do this online school, but keep a social life and my friends. But also with this online school, I'll finish high school, starting college early= more successful.... wow..

What school.
Truthfully.. people shouldn't care. It's your choice. If it's going to make you more successful in the long run, it's more essential to do it for you, not for them.

Re: Home School
They're your friends, if they're true friends they'll stick by you. Don't worry too much about it.

Connections Academy.
Well I still want to have lots of friends, I just can't get out to see them now because I don't have a car so I'm just stuck at home and I live out in the country... I don't want this to lead to a boring life.

Re: Home School
Go back to your friends. This online school doesn't necessarily guarantee you success, and I'd sooner have friends than be successful.

Re: Home School
Well
You're probably not going to get the education or social skills you need to be successful, and probably wont get into an amazing college, so Beepems advice.... go back to school dude.

Re: Home School
i think at least you tried it and you can say you did.
but i think you got too worried about your friends leaving you, and i think that even if you left for a semester and came back they'd still be there. as long as you kept in contact with them and hanging out with them and stuff.
unless they're total dickwads.

Really? You'd rather be held back by a bunch of people who don't give a shit about how you feel and would rather pressure you back into high school instead of doing what you want to do and trying to do something good for your life on your own?

This is a total joke. Education or social skills? I've been home schooled for 10 years. I have an IQ of 134, I have more friends than I have anything else, I'm a successful high school baseball player and I contacted St. Louis University two days ago and they said that not only do they accept home schooled students, but if my GED score is as high as I expect it to be and if my SATs are acceptable, I'll cruise in no problem. Don't pull that stereotypical "home schooled kids are dumb and awkward" crap.

Do what you feel is best for yourself. Don't get pressured by people who don't want to see you think for yourself.

Re: Home School
Because you like the online schooling stick with it.
and you can still have a soical life.
Do things on the weekends
After school.
Talk on the phone.
Make arrangments to hang out with your friends.
Have them over at your house.
Go to theirs.
Just worry about yourself and your education.
That is the most important thing that you need
to deal with right now.
Not making other people happy.
Just you.
Friends will make an effort to still see you
if they are true friends.
Do whats best for you.
