Does everyone feels this way?
I'm not even sure I should be posting this. I know I have a decent life, and my problems are not as bad/serious as some people I know.
Anyway, I'm a guy, about to finish sophomore year, 16 years old. Most of the time I feel fine, happy, social, reasonably self confidant, and all that. There are just these random times where I just feel like shit. It's really hard to explain but it feels like someone just sucks all the life out of me. Everything seems boring or depressing, and I really just feel hopeless and 'down'.
When I get like this my mind always drifts to all the stupid things I've done. My mind constantly focuses on all the embarrassing things and mistakes I have ever made (messing up in a game, saying something idiotic). It is painful emotionally and makes me feel even worse.
Does anyone else ever feel this way?

Re: Does everyone feels this way?
Yes, sometimes I will feel like this very randomly, just a little depressing, and I am one of the happiest kids you'll ever meet. =]
It is because predominantly you have a sad thought, and if not that, it might just be random. Do you VERY best to defeat it, I know its hard, but you can do it. Replace the thoughts with good ones, do something COMPLETELY random which will make you smile.
Just a suggestion.

yea i think its quite normal, when you start feeling shitty you start thinking of everything shitty as much as it sucks, there probably isnt much you can do about it.

That hit home rather weirdly. I don't really get depressed and I'm a very positive person but occasionally my mind does drift. It's more of a shudder than a get-me-down feeling, and it passes easily, but the rest holds true.
I think a lot to experience what you're saying. Isn't the behaviour your describing one of the features of the stereotypical teenager that adults seem to find so funny?

Re: Does everyone feels this way?
Recently, I've become more and more like this.
In general feeling so bad I shut everybody out, even my boyfriend.
Personally, I keep to my self until I feel better but it might help if, when your feling like this, talk to somebody who makes you smile.
Partner/friend or parent.

Yes it seems pretty normal. Still maybe you should talk to your school councellor?

Of course everyone feels that way! It's a part of the age, definetely the hormones and trying to become your own person

Re: Does everyone feels this way?
That's totally normal.
Just as long as you don't feel that way all the time, it's all fine.

Haha, you're not alone, I do it very often, I always thinks about how mean I've been to somebody sometime, or like how I said something idiotic too. =)
So you know you're no alone, I think it's very normal, just try to don't bother, everytime it happens me I always think "Why should I let something I did a long time ago, destroy a happy day?".
=)

Re: Does everyone feels this way?
You just need some time to yourself. When you think about all the mistakes you have made it the past just laugh about them. I mean you can't change them so why not make some fun out of it. But when I feel like that I just go in my room and listen to some music. Or I will just lay on my bed no tv, music, or anything on and just dream about where I want to end up with my life. That really gives me the boost of energy I need sometimes to get past the sad points in my life

I think so to. As long as these down moments are only temporary I don't think it's anything to worry about. Everyone gets like that, you just have to learn from your mistakes and try to move on...

Re: Does everyone feels this way?
That used to happen to me.
But you just have to laugh off your mistakes.
People won't even remember what you've done the next day.
And most people aren't paying that much attention to you, or they really don't think it's as big of a deal as you do.
