13 years old : Child or Teenager ?!

Hi everybody!!

So , here's my problem...

I was wondering wether you are already a teenager or still a child at the age of 13.
It may sound stupid, but...still...
i'm asking this question because i'm 13 and i totally consider myself as a child not a teenager. All these girls or boys ( mostly girls though) are goin' all ' I'M 13, IM ALMOST AN ADULT !! YAY, LETS DAT GUYS AND HAVE FUN!!" and i personally find it sooo stupid. I think most 13-year-olds ain't no teenagers yet, hey TRY to act like it instead. Only 14 years old should be considerated as 'official teens' IMHO...

I asked my friends about it and they were totally agreeing with me. It was our first year in high school this year and they ( my friends) told me that they didn't fit in...which i do agree with...
I mean , everythng and everybody is so different in high school compared to primary school! People don't play games anymore, they just do nothing but...talk. if you play games or like or talk about disneys with ur friends , ppl call you childish and immature.
Girls in High school, they wear make-up, they only wanna wear clothes and high heels, which are ' In ', they read magazines and are always talking about dating, who is the hottest guy, gossips...

while my friends and i we still would like to play games, but we don't dare anymore because we don't wanna be seen as 'childish', we don't wanna care about what we look like, wast 1 hour each morning to choose our make-up ( we don't wear it yet) or being well dressed, we're not even interrested in boys & dating contrary to others which is the reason why we don't seem to fit in the ' teenager wold' may i say...

There are much 13-years-olds i told bout it, and almost all of them thought this way (...almost), they're way more 'childish' that they appear to be, but they act different because they don't wanna be rejected by ppl around their age...

So, what do you think about it ? For all the 13 yrs olds out here , do you consider yourself as a child or a teen ? To answer the original question : do you think 13 should be considerated as teenagers ?

It's up to you how you feel really, don't feel like you should grow up to fast. When I was 13 I felt like everyone was growing up faster than me (like going out with people, drinking, smoking haha etc), most of it was probably just talk... just take your time and do what you feel comfortable with. School seems important now but once your past that age, stuff like that doesn't really matter.

Thirteen

You're a teenager. Mentally, you may not be, but by your age you are considered a teenager, its name was derived for the ages with teen in it.

13 year olds are still children, mentally and physically.

People who are thirteen should be considered teenagers, because as Ejayrazz says, it's in the name. But as onyxeyes says, they may well be children mentally and physically. It's kind of a transitional period maybe?

Well, I'd consider you both. 13 years old is still very young, but the definition of teenager is anyone who is between 13 and 19 years of age. But anyone 14 and under, I would still consider a child.

you technically are a teenager, but who decides on that?

If you still want to act like a kid then go for it! you have plenty of time to grow up and just because it seems most around you are, doesn't mean you HAVE to be a sheep and follow them. Hell my friend is 16 and adores hannah montana. It all just depends on yourself, how long it takes you to physically and mentally grow up. Nothign wrong with that.

Thirteen. Although I didn't feel like a teen until I turned 15.

You're technically a teenager. i don't think I was a child at 13... I had experiences few other girls my age had... Mentally I was just a tad less immature than I am now...and I had big tits..lol. I guess it just depends on the person.
