Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
Okay, so I have a few problems...
In 2 weeks, I have my prom.
And a few days after that, Im going on holiday with my boyfriend.
Im due on my period during BOTH OF THEM! It's pretty much gona ruin the two things ive been looking forwards to for months.
Is there anything I can do to speed up my period coming on?! Because I just want to be on now, so it's over and done with before prom so im not uncomfortable and self-concious.
Thanks
x

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
Are you like, really regular?
Or is there times when it's like, 6 weeks instead of 4?
Because I'm like that, and I've freaked out about things like that, for no reason.
It could just work out.

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
Ah yeah, well ive been thinking about it actaully. Going on the pill.
Just not 100% sure yet, need convincing still I think haha.
I have a boyfriend that ive been with for a few years, so that would be good to have too.
Im just not sure, because what if I started taking it DURING my period? Would that stop it, or would I have to take it when i've finished?
I get the whole thing of taking it for however many days, then not for some to bleed... Regulates it?
And I get worried that il forget to take it sometimes.
And I don't want to put on weight for my prom or holiday.
Help? Haha
Thanks for replying

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
Periods always seem to come at the worst time. Sadly, I don't know what to recommend. I just deal with them. =\

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
Well It's only a short time away so goign on the pill now in this short space of time might not go according to plan ....if you get them with pains---take painkillers, and you won't notice your on.
It shouldn't be too bad, it's not like they effect everyday life? you can still do everything you normally would do.

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
You take the pill at the start of your period and and it will stop pretty soon after. Mine did. But if you start taking it you will have to carry on taking it until you want a baby.
It's no hassle though and so far, I've got mine free.
If you forget to take it one day, just take 2 the next day, the effects of missing one or stopping for a week don't really kick in for around 3 days and the side effects vary from person to person.
I know I've atually lost weight and grown a bigger chest while on the pill :P

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
when i went on the pill i found no change straight away. If you were to take more and didnt stop taking them then you should stop having it that time. luckilly i tend to go to events at lucky times of not being on. Im pressuming theyre pretty uncomfy then, right? i know the feeling. the right herbs and tranxaemic acid can help to ease, but unsure what else would stop it so soon.
why woul a woman have to take the pill until they have kids? i came off it.

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
I think there's a pill you can take to stop your period for a month...... like a hormone pill, but I think maybe it's not great for teens and stuff.... still you could check it out.

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
Thanks guys.
I'd been thinking about it before, and now would be a good time to go on it really.
But yeah, I don't want to go on it... And then not be able to come off it, I thought you could?
And can I get it from somewhere apart from my doctors?
Thanks for your help girls

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
The pill wouldn't help you now as a doctor will tell you not to start taking it until after your next period has started. It also takes time to regulate and change when your period starts, you need more time than 2 weeks.
Also, to answer your above question, you can start BC and then stop it whenever you want to.
I started taking BC last year because I have dreadful cramps during my period, I had to be taken to the emergency room because of it once. I take Seasonique so that I only get my period once every 3 months.

Re: Girls, help? (Periods, haha)
This is typical of periods, to show up at the worst possible time. Don't worry, because you have no control over it so there's no point. *cue hippie moment* our periods are what brings out the Goddess in all of us, our inner powerful female. It reminds you that inside you is a brave, sexy woman. What better time for her to come out than on these events?
Although I suppose the sex will be awkward....
