My name is Adriane, 17 about 4month ago i was working late at the dollar store, when two burglars came in with guns. they took all the money and before they left they raped and brutally beat me. they held a gun to my head forcing me to have sex with them.

the worst part about this is no justice was served, if i were to ever see these men i would shoot them down myself. because of what they did my life will never be the same, i am always paranoid. i currently attend awareness classes were girls with similar problems meet and talk about experience.

No one should ever have to go thru what i went thru, and its a shame that this type of thing happens often.

how do i get over this, i still have nightmares and i refuse to go out alone, and because of this i find it hard to talk to guys, beside family members.

well its gonna take along time for you to get over it, and unless justice is served u may never get over it.
the fact that they cannot catch predators/burgerlars like that pisses me off and i hope they got ran over by a truck while leaving

i dont even know what to say, this is so sad. basically my advice for you is to move on and dont let that bother you, try to hang out with family and friends as much as you can.

things will get better, try not to think about what happened, hopefully justice will be served.

Im sorry to hear that, thats terrible. I'd say just keep going to those awareness classes and talking to those girls that experienced similar things. Thats the best thing for you since they understand exactly how u feel.

Also, try taking a martial arts class. And carry some sort of defense device like pepper spray or a small knife. This may increase your confidence and decrease the paranoia, allowing you to go out more often.

Oh wow hun. Just keep living your life one day at a time. Try hard not to change from the way you used to do things. Dont let the fear win. I know its tough but just be strong and lean on others for support when you can't. You can't deny or pretent like it didn't happen but you can move on and become stronger. People always confuse denial and moving on. Just keep living your life and soon everything will fall back to the way they were. I'll pray for you honey. Keep your head up and stay strong. im so sorry, i was in a similar situation when leaving the mall, a guy tried to steal my purse and the things i bought. but luckily my older brother was there and i guess that scared him off

this is so wrong i hate it when guys do things like that, if they wanted sex they could have gotten a prostitute. i agree continue going to the classes and i wish those guys go to hell

That is terrible, and your telline me they're free to walk the streets?! that is WRONG. Time is a great healer, nobody on here can give you answers your truly looking for. Only you can do that. There may be some type of drug which helps you see better,consult a doctor. Stay stong .

Maybe the martial arts, but I think that carrying something for defence will only increase paranoia...

Nobody here can say the right thing and can't give the best advice. Have you had therapy of some sort?

well adriane theres not much i can say. . . but well my older sister was rapped when she was 14 by 5 men and after that well it made her strong she doesnt think about it anymore , now she is 20 yrs old so i guess the only thing you can hold on to is time i know it sounds dumb but in time you will eventually become stronger. and for the mean time dont think in suicide or any of that crap hang in there ok!!!

first of all I'm so sorry this happened second of all don't feel bad for it was NOT your fault you were raped their fault and their fault ONLY. Thrid of all you may never get completely over it,but that is completely ok and understandable because you are right no one deserves this at all. It is also ok to be afraid to talk to guys after what happened certainity when you don't know them so that too is completely understandable but just remember that as fast as this world is going down hill there are still some very nice and respectable guys out there. I also think that it is great that you are going to classes for help with this that is the first step to healing is talking and knowing that you aren't alone. I am here if you need to talk
